My favorite concert of all time was Dolores O’Riordan at the Commodore around 2007-2008ish when she was touring her solo act.
I won tickets at work, so it’s not like it was a show I was super pumped for but she blew me away with her performance. Played lots of old Cranberries hits which was great. Show opened with “Zombie” and that kicked so much ass. I loved that show. She was so good.
Band I saw the most was Linkin Park. Saw them 8 times. They never let me down. Chester’s energy was something to see each time. Still so sad to think about his passing.
I loved Metallica in the three times I saw them.
Not a huge fan of their music but Slipknot always really brought it the time I saw them at Ozzfest 01.
Marilyn Manson was always an interesting show.
Always a short set opening for someone or at a festival, but I loved Gob concerts. Tons of fun.

For me the best is when you have low expectations and are completely blown away. I went to a festival a few years ago and Erykah Badu was the closing performer. I wasn't entirely hyped to see her...I appreciated her music and recognized her talent but just didn't expect much. But she was incredible! Badu and her band were flawless and did a lot of improvisational stuff. It was just really cool. Plus she had great banter with the crowd and her band which definitely adds to the show.
Probably best show I had high expectations for that totally delivered were The Strokes at the Dome Theatre in Niagara Falls in 2004. I think it had about 1500 capacity which is small for The Strokes. So the place was packed and felt so initimate. Julian was pretty hammered so there was great banter but they sounded great.

Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge. Seen them 17 times over 6 trips and every show is amazing!!
Pearl Jam in Missoula in Aug 2018
RHCP By the way tour at the dome in 2003. Frusciante was on another level that night!
Eve 6 and Blind Melon played a tiny sports bar in Lethbridge a few years ago and it was loud and fun! Took me back to high school.

4. Hothouse Flowers - RDS Dublin
3. Blue Rodeo - Trafalgar Square Canada Day concert
2. Foo Fighters - Wembley
1. AC/DC - Black Ice tour - Wembley. I thought I’d left it too late to see them live. Boy was I wrong - what an emotional time!

Hey Barnet, just curious, how and why did you become a Flames fan. Are you a Calgary ex-pat to London?

Ex Calgarian - was a Habs fan until the Flames moved to Calgary. I was adamant that I’d remain a Habs fan until opening night against the Nordiques.

So jealous of you seeing AC/DC at Wembley. Must have been something totally unreal.

Pearl Jam 2005 at the Dome - like someone mentioned earlier the dome was electric. During the encore 2 random guys picked me up on their shoulders to watch and that was surreal for me being a fan for so long.
Chris Cornell 2013 Medicine Hat Esplanade - such a great intimate venue to hear one the greatest voices of all time. I’ll cherish that forever.
Honourable mention to Janes Addiction at the gorge, I went to see Alice in Chains, but Jane’s was such a fun experience… Perry Farrell is a great frontman and from Mars, would love to see them again.

It was without doubt the best concert going experience of my life.
I’d even say it was one of the best experiences of my life. I could not believe the energy of the band and the way Brian Johnson belted out decades worth of pure gold with such gusto.

A bit off topic here, but I became a fan mid way through the game. It looked like we’d murder them at one point.
The first season was such a blast and that series with the Flyers was unbelievable. Everyone wrote us off when we lost game 6.

a few old friends and I were talking about this subject the other day we used to travel around every summer and do a bunch of shows. Man do I miss live music and those trips
a few of my favourites
Phish - The Great Went in Limestone Maine
Blue Traveler - Horde tour shows back in the mid 90's (some great lineups)
Our Lady Peace at our college bar in Barrie
Deep Banana Blackout - in the parking lot at one of the Phish Festivals
Jimmy Buffett - Great Woods in Boston - Show was great the parking lot scene/party was even better

Foo Fighters in Seattle in 2005. Weezer opened and it was awesome. Topped the night off by accidentally (as far as I could tell) stumbling into the Central Saloon, which as I understand it, is where pretty much every big band that came out of Seattle in the 90s got their start. It was a great way to cap off the night.
Chris Cornell at the Royal Theatre in Victoria in 2011. Such a perfect venue.
Honourable mention goes to an impromptu Tim McGraw 'show' at - of all places - Saltlik in Banff around 2002. My then-girlfriend and I just finished dinner and were in a hurry to get back to our hotel. As we were about to head downstairs to leave, our server all but insists we stick around for "maybe one more drink at the bar... Trust me". Lo and behold, Tim McGraw had dinner downstairs and appreciating the fact that no one bothered him, decided to show his appreciation with a quick acoustic set... Not the biggest Tim McGraw fan, but an amazing experience.

Yes. Yes they are.
There's a reason I've seen them half a dozen times. They get mainstream play but I'd still say they're underaporeciated

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band playing “The River” album (and many other classic songs) in Philly in 2016. They played for three and a half hours with one 10 minute break. It was unreal. It’s gonna be tough to top that one.
Honourable mentions:
- Echo & The Bunnymen @ Mac Hall (2017)
- Refused @ Mac Hall (2012)
- Blink 182 reunion tour @ the Saddledome (2009)
I feel like I’m forgetting a few but those come to mind first!
