When my kids played in Timbits, there was a rule that the score clock could never show one team ahead by more than 3 goals at any time. Maybe the IIHF should hand out Timbits jerseys to China?
Personally I would be interested in seeing Canada score a goal immediately and then just play keep away for 59 consecutive minutes of game time.
1 shot, 1 goal, 100% possession.
China would probably stand a better chance of winning the game as the odds of Canada scoring a couple of own-goals just by pure bad luck are probably higher than China actually scoring one themselves.

Speaking as a Chinaman, I wholeheartedly think this is a bitch move and hope that they suck it up and get trainwrecked 20-0 every single game
Far from me to be critical of mods, but how the heck is this kind of post allowed here? Even if you are Chinese, that's like a black person posting and referring to themselves as the N word. I don't imagine we'd be cool with that.
And to have the post be thanked too. Guess hey, why not pick on the Asians right?

There is a N word for people from China and he didn't use it

I saw this as a shot at the powers-at-large (i.e. CCP)... which I'm wholly supportive of.
You're imagining things outside of that.

That's actually super cool.
I'd watch a show that followed Canadian Chinese players going to Russia to represent China in ice hockey.
There's a premise here.

Did you report it? I'm sure mods don't read every single post on CP.

So.. it's cool to use the word Chinaman now? Good to know, maybe we can use the DeLorean to go back to the 80's to my childhood now to tell the those kids calling me that in a racial context that it's all good, it's a perfectly acceptable term in the 2020's and has no racial context behind it anymore. Cuz you know, CP said so.
Why are Canada and the US in the same pool/group in the Olympics?
Aren't they the two best teams in the world and should be in opposite pool/group so they can meet in the final?
I thought it would work like Tennis where the #1 and #2 ranked players are in opposites sides of the draw so they can meet in the final (barring any upsets).

Presumably it's based on something other than people's opinion, likely based on the standings at the last Olympics perhaps.
Tennis is based on rankings, which may not be the two current best players.

That is above my pay grade...he did say it about himself. I just don't think it was fair to accuse him of using the Nword equivalent.
I won't be saying either
If I called someone
"The Yen Man" IRL it probably wouldn't go over well either

I just took it as him referring to himself as Chinese. There was nothing derogatory about it.
Good lord, are we really that sensitive as a society that any mention of nationality is now considered racist? Come on. Context matters.
