I hope it was that the Sabres were in love with Tuch/Krebs

And not that we drew the line at x prospect. Any of our prospects should be available in a trade like this. Absolutely none of them are a sure thing and, ultimately, only one or two will make the dance and even less will be difference makers.

Never value potential over proven elite skill.

As much Treliving didn’t close, the big loser here is Buffalo. They could’ve had more for Eichel a couple months ago, and instead dithered and delayed for this today. Adam’s is the guy who should be fired for this.

And the Flames have another issue here. Starting out super hot doesn’t exactly make you want to blow things up. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have done this, because I think they should have, but there’s a risk there that you trade away pieces today and pay for that this year.

Holy crap. Failure of Flames management!? Bunch of whiney babies here. Thank the gods he went to Vegas. Watch them ruin themselves because of this trade.

That's the contract that Mangiapane should have had a while ago.
That is close to what Mangiapane will sign to. Don't be fooled by his shooting percentage. Mangi isn't getting more than $5 million a year on a long term deal.

I think you are out of touch big time.

He was probably venting his frustration that Vegas was at an advantage with their LTIR situation. They didn't need to clear out the same amount of money to consummate the trade that the Flames would have.
I also think some of their injuries were convenient timing.

A little nudge nudge to their doctors.

It takes two parties.

Hot start should change nothing.

it's about the long game.

Honestly this is a situation where you know your biggest playoff obstacle is the other team contending for this elite player and you can’t pony up more than that. So what does that say about how serious this team is about actually contending.

I don't get how Vegas fits Eichel.

He has to fit without LTIR before they move him to LTIR.

Thank the Lord this is done.
Happy we didn't send assets to Buffalo in exchange for a "wait and see" situation.

If it would have been two firsts instead of one maybe that would have done it.
Thats a disappointment. Tkachuks good but not good enough to be an untouchable for Eichal. Sometimes these gm's overvalue their players so much. Tkachuk could easily turn into a meh asset if he asks for 10 million+.

Really disappointed. I knew it was too good to be true. Thats the life of a Flames fan.

Again, if Buffalo indeed held Krebs at a higher rate than any Flames prospect and that’s who they wanted there’s not much BT can do.

Just because some posters on a fan site think our prospects are as good or better doesn’t matter at all. If Buffalo had their sights set on Krebs and Vegas threw in some other players and picks it is not surprising in the least the deal was done.

So, is there no protection on the 1st? Knights are currently 7th in the division and just traded for an injured player.

That's good news if only to put an end to all these high and mighty self appointed GMs and this silly string. When someone posts "we have no balls" who the heck are "we"??? Last time I checked no one here works for Treliving. Posting over and over and over and over again doesn't make one a Hockey genius. It just means you don't have an actual life.

PS Going to the game tonight.

There is no cap circumvention at this time as Eichel is on LTIR. How could the NHL not let it go through?

You can't punish a team for what they may do in the future LOL.
