Yeah, that nearly-a-point-per-game pace that Laine is currently posting is so, so average.

What would happen if the grievance goes through? Will it actually serve as a deadline ?

It would be highly comical if Buffalo decided to just keep him after all this and let him get the surgery he wants.

Honestly I still think Flames might have the best offer and all the Vegas/Anaheim rumors are just to try to get Calgary to up their offer.

It would be even more comical if Tre gets a deal done to appease all the haters, and Eichel never returns to form after surgery. This is a slippery slope and y'all better be careful what you wish for.

I just don’t see how this works cap wise without really hurting the team, unless it’s Zadorov & Monahan, or maybe Tkachuk going the other way. If Tre can put on his wizard hat and work some magic then great, but this feels super risky to me.
Promising season? This team is forever mediocre, a good regular season or not. It’s always up and down with this team season after season, either they have a solid season and make the playoffs, or end up in the middle of the pack and miss. They can win the division and still get ass slapped backwards round 1. We NEED a franchise #1C to ever be a cup contender, and this is it. A legitimate franchise #1C like Eichel RARELY comes around and becomes available, and you have to swing for the fences to get him. You guys can be happy with a “promising season” or a “good” regular season all you want, but I’m not, and I’m sure many feel the same as I do, because we know what’s going to happen come playoff time, and that’s if we even make it. It’s time to make a move now with the “win now” window that we have with the age group of our core.

I want Eichel real bad, but Treliving can't afford to gut his roster either.

This team has had two straight awful seasons when you consider where they are supposed to be right now, at the apex of their "rebuild". And that was after completely crapping the bed in the playoffs in the only season where they actually looked poised to contend.

Now they look like they've finally corrected the misguided coaching carousel of useless garbage coaches and have actually looked great out of the gate going 5-1-1. the last thing Treliving can do is cut the legs out from under that by trading away top 4 defensemen or key pieces of the current forward group to bring in a player who if we're lucky will be able to finally suit up after the trade deadline.

This could very well be what's holding up the works I'm thinking. The dumbass Sabres are probably asking for Monahan, Mangiapane and Hanifin (plus future(s)) in return for a player with a broken ####ing neck. Adams probably is that stupid.

At least if we trade Coronato now it will be before we get super excited about him like in another month

Monahan + Dube + Valimaki + conditional 22 1st + Pelletier or Zary

It’s a lot but it allows the dollars to work and I think the flames can still be competitive even though that’s a considerable loss to the roster medium term until Eichel gets healthy. Preferably Zary is traded and Pelletier can be promoted to lessen the loss of Dube.

Change Monahan and Dube to Lucic and Zadorov and add the next 4 firsts

All in baby

This is the biggest #### tease in the history of NHL trades. I won't believe Eichel is going anywhere until it actually happens

After reading some golden knights pundit remarks on the old Twitter box. I can't see how they get Eichel. At all. It make no sense at all from any perspective:

Monny, Mangi, Pelletier, 2023 1st. That's my guess. I'm sticking to it.

I wonder if the decision will be made before he retires.

Where’s a good picture of a skeleton when you need one?

If we could add some of the prospects of the Neal trade with Edmonton to put this Eichel deal over the top that would be a nice cherry.
