It's crazy what that 18-19 team accomplished with Mike Smith and David Rittich as its tandem, and Monahan as its 1C.

The best defenseman in the league had something to do with it. Also, Backlund was an absolute beast, and we probably had the best 4th line in the league with Mangiapane - Ryan - Hathaway.

I'll never understand why they let Hathaway walk like that.

To save room for impact players like Derek Ryan.

Neal/Lucic/Ryan money on the fourth line. And who knows maybe Hathaway honestly wanted to go somewhere else. A 4 year contract for a guy like that is pretty out there.

Last night's win moves the Flames to a record of 32-14-6 over the first 52 games. The red snake is a season's best 9.122 points above the black line and 1 point below the purple snake.

The red snake is on pace for 110 points on the season. A record of 0-4-26 (71 point season's pace) in the remaining 30 games would have it finish at 96 points.

Snek is on pace for 110 points! That's amazing!

Still haven't caught purple snek yet though, here's hoping this snek continues to grow. This team has way better goaltending, so good.

Agreed on coaching, scoring depth was similar though right? 1st line was great , Backlund was much more productive and had Tkachuk, 4th line was good too. Only the Benzo line wasnt very good for their role.

Vegas odds of the Flames making the playoffs are 99.9%....Although I will admit that I don't find the odds that absolute. A losing/winning streak by any team in the division changes things quickly.

Edmonton is at 78%, Nashville at 59.7%, and Dallas at 54.1%....not sure how that works as one of those teams is likely missing. Anaheim is 2 points back and only has a 15.6% chance.
