He will bitch about the lack of penalty calls regardless of how many actually do occur.

It's amazing he has the platform he does.

I want to predict a win but I think the Flames go into the 3rd with the lead only to see a slew of penalties because Connor Crybaby will be whining all game and the league will game manage the Oilers to a comeback..

My only prediction is that the Flames will undoubtedly, absolutely 100% get into penalty trouble.

3-0 Flames, all three goals in the last 5 min.

It will be Sutter tense until the end.

Because why not.

I have the feeling the season will come down to how good our PK is this year.

If the game is tied with 5 minutes left, or if the Oilers are down by a goal, you can bet on the inevitable gift-wrapped 5 on 3 to hand them the tying or winning goal. We all know it’s coming, so it’s best to mentally prepare ourselves now.

Whatever happens, I just wanna see a solid 60 minute effort from the Flames. And it would sure be nice to break the season opener curse.

This is my biggest concern.

Tough, high energy Sutter hockey is effective but the refs look extra incompetent and don't seem to know a penalty from a stick check based on the exhibitions. Giving the big boys the green light to use their bodies could land us inadvertently in the bin at a bad time. Hopefully we pick our spots well and get lucky in that regard. Edmonton game on a Saturday night means they're probably guaranteed to hand them a couple third period PPs.

I’m excited for this one. My hope is for the Flames to grind out a 2006 era Sutter style win…1-0 or 2-1 and leave the Oiler fans and CBC/Rogers hype machine bored and disappointed.

My guess, is that the Flames come out hard, play fast and physical, but have trouble finishing. Oilers will have opportunities on their power play and matchups and Markstrom will have to be the games first star to keep the game close.

Go Flames Go!!!

He irritates Flames fans with the McDavid goal call. Sound like a damn idiot in both cases. Give me the good old days of Don Wittman and Jim Robson. Those guys knew how to call a game without idiotic goal calls.

Yes, just lay the goddamn body on McWhiner and Drysaddle every chance they get. If McWhiner tries to drive the net make it a painful experience for him!!!

I don't mind Singh's goal thing (its a quirk and its fun), its the going up three decibels when Turris picks up the puck in the neutral zone.

He turns on his excited voice at strange times and it throws me off watching it.

We tend to let McDavid walk all over us in big, nationally televised games. But Darryl Sutter despises McDavid.

Prediction: I have no idea. If I had the powers of prediction, I wouldn’t waste it on hockey.

Ah, so that's how Darryl dresses Zadorov and Gudbranson without pissing off fans that he didn't dress Kylington.

I am excited for tonight just to get things going and talk about something other than contracts and Eichel.

I have been conditioned over my life to expect a Flames loss to start the season, but our top players have looked lights out in the preseason to me. I was really surprised and excited to see the top line neutered McDavid so well in that preseason game. We finally have a coach that can play the match-up game with other coaches. I think that Edmonton was going as hard as they could in preseason but the Flames have another gear. Just hoping Darryl has them ready after that long break.

Regardless of the result, I am excited for the progress of the season. Unlike the last few years, my expectation is that the Flames are better prepared not to have any extended losing streaks. I like that Darryl has had them conditioned and practicing at a higher pace. Have a few decent winning streaks with no extended losing streaks and this team will be a nightmare in the playoffs.
