Nope.

We've seen guys who get concussions who don't return to the same level as pre-concussion.

Just because you "Can play" doesn't mean you are at the same level you were before injury.

Like who? Sid was his old self after a couple issues. IIRC Lindros played the same way. He just has at risk to be out again. Ferland was NHL worthy. But Sven came back and was sent to the AHL.

Guys like Lindros and Kariya were still good, but they were never quite at the level they were at prior to their concussions.

The elite of the elite tend to be able to make it work, because they were that good, but I think for guys that are tweeners or mid-tier NHLers it can really hurt their ability to think and see the game at a high level and at the speed required.

A guy like Daniel Tkaczuk is the example for me. He looked amazing before all his concussions in both the AHL and in his limited NHL time.

And he still played for another 10 years in Europe and across different leagues, but he just wasn't the same guy anymore.

there is no argument...he wasn't fantastic unless you are being a fanboy

at his very best he was an everyday NHLer for a year or so

Just noticed he was re-claimed by Tampa. When a player gets waived again does his original team get first right?
Also surprised Seattle didn't give him more of a chance.

It's almost as if they don't actually want Barre-Boulet on their teams, they just want the idea of Barre-Boulet on their teams.

Classic too good for AHL duty, not good enough for top-six NHL duty-ala Austin Czarnik.

Yes and if the original team is the only one to make a claim they can now send him down to the AHL.

No, its the same waiver order. Bad teams would have had first dibs again.

However, if the original team was the only team to put in a claim, the player can be sent to the AHL without going on waivers again

3 of the next 4 seasons he was pretty close. And he did turn 30 that year.

His shooting % dropped like a rock. He was never the same guy after that elbow. Duncan Keith missed 0 play-off games.

Duncan Keith is a dirty ####. #### Duncan Keith.

Yes he is. Always has been. But now that’s all he has.
