It's fine. He went over the line. It's just one game that means anything to anyone.

It's less about the two games but more about the bajillion times I've seen Flames players hit in vulnerable positions over the past 2-3 seasons with no/little consequence.

It was a pretty cheap hit. I wouldn't even mind a game suspension if it was going to be consistent with every hit like that, but we all know the NHL has no clue what they're doing. Next time we see a hit like that it will probably be 2 minutes and that's it.

Its a bad hit on the defenseless player. 2 games is fine but I hope that this is the standard going forward and not just where the magical wheel landed.

I think the decision is what it was because the next game is preseason. Had next game been a regular season game, I think it would have been 1 game total.

Dangerous play, so okay with the suspension. Sucks though, that he will miss the season opener

Dangerous play that took advantage of a vulnerable player. Luckily the guy wasn't injured because the suspension would be much longer. Take suspension as a lesson and move on. All the people surprised by the suspension need to watch a lot more hockey and take off the rose-colored glasses ffs..

I have no problem with 1 game (the preseason doesn't count). Like always when it comes to the NHL disciplinary committee, the problem is the inconsistency.

I guarantee this is not the standard...the same or a worse hit will go unpunished this season

See you when it happens and I bump this

I think you need to watch more hockey if you think that hit is always called a suspension.

Where did I say "that hit is always called a suspension'"? We all know the NHL is not consistent with calls but what I said and I still stand behind is this, All the people surprised by the suspension need to watch a lot more hockey and take off the rose-colored glasses ffs..

Rose colored glasses? It's a hit that often goes unpunished...I expect to have an example for you in the first week.

It is what it is...Flames have a different standard. Lucic and Tkachuk suspensions are unmatched

Situational punishment. Different rules for preseason, regular season and playoffs. Very typical of this bush league.
