Marko Sturm hasn't played in years, and certainly not in net.

Downplaying the hyperbole, not the play.

Give me more of that “stinking”.

Didn't someone call Hendrik Karlsson that too? I remember there being a lot of hype with him that the Flames were getting a hidden gem.

Speaking as a bystander, Jason14h, I can say your sarcasm wasn't that obvious. Plenty of posters have said things just as foolish, and meant them. To me, it looked like maybe you were having a brain fart due to selective memory.
There is a fine line between making people go, ‘Ha, ha, good one,’ and making them go, ‘You what? Are you off your meds?’ Trust me, I've been on the wrong side of that line often enough.

Officially finishes the season with the 3rd(!!!) best Save Percentage in NHL HISTORY (minimum 50 GP) despite this being the highest scoring season in 29(!!!) years.

He's like the Joel Colborne of goalies.
I00% should get the Vezina and should at least be in the top 3 for MVP...but he's not a leaf or McJesus so likely won't.

There really should be a thread for all the crazy seasons some players have had. Very clearly there are going to be players left off the MVP selection list that would be there most other years. Like, how do you leave Shesterkin off the list after the season he just had? One of the best seasons for a goaltender ever and easily the Vezina favorite (sorry Markstrom).

There is no MVP selection list. Voters are free to vote for whomever they please.
The 3 finalists are simply the 3 top voter getters at the end of the day.

The season he has had, he definitely needs to get some Hart consideration.
Vezina should be locked up, at the very least.

Who will be the two runners up for Vezina this year? I haven’t really payed attention to goalies. Will Markstrom be second or third?

Probably some some combo of Markstrom, Saros and Anderson?
I’m probably missing someone obvious

I think the fact that Shesterkin only played in 53 games will keep him off a lot of Hart ballots. There are nearly 40% of his teams games where he did nothing to help them win or lose. Whereas when Hasek was winning the Hart, he was playing 67-72 games a season. Although he did finish second in 93-94 with only playing 58 games. If you go back and look at the 93-94 season some of the Individual numbers are not that far off what we saw this year. A bit more scoring, and Hasek had a 1.95 GAA at a time where anything under 2.5 seemed to be unheard of.
Given how many other guys had exceptional seasons this year, the low games played may push him down some ballots for the Hart. But he can start start building a trophy case for the Vezina because him winning is one of the easier votes there is in awards this year.
