Tough to argue. We were a bottom 1/3 team last year. Haven’t made any major changes really to the core of forwards who have proven ineffective. I don’t think it’s a controversial pick to have us slotted anywhere in that 16-24 range of NHL teams.

I think people missed that the article was a humour piece in the guise of a power rankings. The order of the teams was more to facilitate the jokes they wanted than to actually evaluate the teams.

I don’t think that was missed, the question is why do the Coil always have to be ranked in the top echelon of the league when every living breathing organism on this planet knows how this ends. Is this mandated from the league that no one can possibly slight Mavi and actually post the fact him or Raisatl only want to chase scoring titles and don’t really care what the team does.

The only cup Mavi will ever be lifting in Edmonton will be Raisatls before they hit the shower….. would be a nice fresh take for an analyst of any form to tell the truth about the Oilers.
