The whole frontage of 4th (That glass pavillion) is retail and restaurant, so that will make a nice experience on that street. 12th also has some retail frontage. There are two smaller sets of entrances on each corner on 12th.
I would prefer more of an architectural showpiece than most. I joked about the Cowboy hat earlier, but really in a city with Telus Sky and our Library, the arena should be better than just a lightly detailed box with a small wood feature (?)
As long as the design team puts some effort into how the building addresses 9th Ave, I'll be happy. It's going to be a failure if it turns it's back on the East Village and only opens up to Olympic Way (as per the early renders AC posted).

Just looking at the render closer, is that a large screen on the right side of the building showing the concert on the inside?
Probably not showing a concert live, but it will likely be available to show games to the plaza in front of the building, similar to the viewing parties that various teams have started doing in recent years -- like the Raptors' "Jurassic Park" in Toronto.
I suspect that during the playoffs, they'll likely close 4th Street and 14th Ave to traffic and open that whole area up for a viewing plaza.
