You have to look at it on a per-GM basis. Everything leading up to Kevyn Adams was a disaster. Adams has been on the job for about 13 months, and he’s untangling the cluster #%^* he inherited quite nicely I’d say.

Well it's actually a post from Oct. 2020, so it's before that disastrous last season.

Makes sense why you said he was 24. He turns 26 in November of this year.

That is true, but to be a fan of that fan base it has been a hell of a decade in a very Oilerss way.
I think Reinhart will do well just getting away from that mess.

I’m amazed that there hasn’t been any updates on the full trade yet. A late 1st and goalie prospect doesn’t seem like enough. Granted if this is it Buffalo will be shedding cap space

Language involving some of the draft picks included in the Reinhart trade to Florida is what gummed things up. Expected to be wrapped up soon.

Gotta think the farther that Florida goes in playoffs next year the value of reinhart increases. If they win the cup I could see an additional first added. Granted I’m spitballing.

Reinhart is an RFA needing a contract this year, no salary to shed for buff.

Not much choice here. Risto and Eichel both made it clear they wanted out, and Reinhart is eligible for UFA next year, and iirc also made it clear that he had no interest in being in Buffalo long-term.

Florida is in a really interesting spot. They already have a number of RFAs to deal with this summer (Bennett, Wallmark, Juulsen, Lammiko, and now Reinhart) than then they run into a similar RFA glut next summer (Verhaege, Heponiemi, Tippett, Luosstarien, and Kiersted), but also have some UFAs to be concerned about in Barkov, Vatrano, Acciari, Stralman, and Nutivaara. Going to be interesting to see how they navigate this minefield.

Very simple mistake.
Panthers are loaded with talent in that 25-30 range.
Going all in already traded their top 2 picks for next year but picking up 2 solid players in their mid 20’s who were top 4 picks is nice work by Zito

Some here were not high on Reinhart concerns about skating, bet he flourishes in Florida. Florida knows what they are doing with these young skilled players that may be seeing limited potential on other teams. Bennett said coach Q didn't change much about his game, but just let him play and obviously he is having fun and being given unlimited opportunities.

Zito has done an amazing job so far. I think they can sign both Bennett and Reinhart without a problem, Stralman and Nutivaara coming off the books next year when Barkov is up. They should be fine.

Florida’s forwards looking good. They need some work on D and in goal, though I don’t know whether Knight could be good. He was decent in 2 games in the POs.

I would think the only RFAs that might be difficult are Reinhart, Bennet, and Verhaege. The rest haven't accomplished nearly enough. Similarly, while Barkov is the big UFA, the rest are replaceable.
