So the point we disagree on is the fact that Seattle gets the exact same deal from Larson regardless of they sign him today vs a week from today. I am not convinced that deal still exists as Larson could have ever AP other options with teams doing full court press on their pitch.
To me that is not worth Kharia, Benson or any of the other trash the Kraken could have taken from the Oil. You seem to think that deal will still exist for the Kraken and I am not or will not be convinced of that

So far the Oil have nothing left in return for Hall, Eberle and Yakupov.
Nuge is on a deal that keeps him an Oiler for his career but it could certainly be a deal that she’s poorly.
I am also calling the McDavid trade request will be made as soon as his NMC kicks in

Yes they are.
He's a top two defenseman in the league and almost impossible to replace.
Additionally you'd have to go out and sign a guy to a similar contract with term to replace him. If he still in Calgary you get another year, a better story, and hopefully a step forward by Valimaki making the need to blow your brains out on a veteran defenseman less likely.

It's just not that simple.
It's Larson guaranteed vs Benson and then Larson falls through when other teams start talking to him.
The Benson in the equation just doesn't have the value to make the risk worthwhile.
