With all due respect, it's not even in the same hemisphere as Jagr.
Only appeal of a jersey would be if your last name (or first name) was Keith.
I do think it makes sense for the Kraken. As captain or alternate captain.

Hence I said “significantly less cool”.
Keith is a two-time Norris winner, Conn Smythe winner, won three Stanley Cups and two gold medals. He was a bonafide superstar. I’d absolutely get his jersey. He’s washed up but he’s still a legend and likely Hall of Famer.

I know you’re saying you’re against this idea with Keith, but the sentiment is the same for a ton of players and fans.

You dont think Perry and Staal made a difference for the Canadiens?
Kieth is that kind of guy for any team acquiring him. He can really help in many ways, he just cant be the top dog anymore.

Is Keith captain material, however? I don't know one way or another, but I haven't heard anything about him for his leadership. All I know is that Toews and Seabrook were the leaders on Chicago, AFAIK. Was Keith a part of that, or was he just a very good player for them but wasn't really involved in the leadership of the team?

Keith may have arguably been the most important Hawk in winning 3 Stanley Cups.
Every playoff, people would remember who was the best dman in the league when they saw him playing 30 minutes a night.
He made their top 4 dman elite.

Which is totally unrelated to the question you were responding to. Not all great players make good captains.

The poster asked if Keith was just a very good player on Chicago. That’s the question I was answering.
Keith was every bit the leader Toews, Kane, Seabrook and Hissa were. Chicago was a team of multiple stars and leaders who feed off of each other come playoff time.

He wears an "A" right now in CHI so I assume they like his leadership.

If it’s Seattle, I bet Seattle is being paid to take Keith.

Quote:
National Hockey League star Duncan Keith recently [2015] had a British Columbia Court throw out his ex-wife’s claim for $150,000 in monthly interim support. Kelly Keith had sought a massive spousal support award along with $69,000 per month in child support to care for the parties son. Duncan had argued that any entitlement and need for support would be satisfied with a payment of $15,000 in spousal support and $10,000 in child support. The NHL star earned $9 million annually and the parties had been together since they were teenagers and Kelly Keith had moved to Chicago to be with the NHL star. She was not able to work in the United States and ran a charity in the NHL star’s name. B.C Supreme Court Justice George MacIntosh ruled that the child support claim was “disproportionately high” and ordered that he pay $15,000 per month in child support. He also ordered that the NHL star pay $45,000 per month in spousal support. Justice MacIntosh held that $45,000 was “adequate” in addressing the economic hardship and disadvantages that resulted to Kelly Keith as a result of the split. Duncan Keith was also required to pay the mortgage and expenses for the couple’s BC home where Kelly Keith resided. The mortgage and associated expenses were about $10,000 per month.
In total, $15K in child support + $45K in spousal support + $10K in mortgage expenses = $70K per month.

Hell, I’ll marry Duncan Keith myself if it means I can make $70k a month for doing nothing and still be considered “economically disadvantaged”
