This is how you get Bertuzzi incidents....

Wednesday, probably nothing will happen but a few fights, but you just never know.

The Buschnevich deal is worse than Panarin, IMO. At least Panarin was going after Wilson at the time (not excusing it, still dirt).

Buschnevich is just lying face down on the ice and Wilson smashes him in the back of the head/neck? Could have paralyzed him. And it's a peanuts fine? F** off.

Obvious negligence.

And whoever finally tries to make this guy answer for all his bull#### will likely get one of the longest suspensions in NHL history. This is all on this absolute joke of a league.

Also are we going to start talking about how Panarin is one of the most underrated guys in the league? Obvious star power, stood up to Putin and supported Navalny, and just stood up for his teammate to Tom Wilson, who, say what you want about him, is built like a truck.

Actually it looked like to me that Buschnevich fell on the stick with his throat rather than being crosschecked in the back of the neck.

They would be revered as the Batman of the league though!

This is what you get when the director of player safety is a former goon who suffered multiple concussions.

Yah it only took one guy to be high sticked in the face for everyone basically on my team to put cages on.

The league continues to prop up the true heros of the league. The Kassians and the Willsons, who uphold the code, by doing the dirtiest, most disrespectful acts with clearly no regard for their coworkers safety. These buffoons are going to end someone's career and the NHL is going to act shocked like they did everything they could to prevent it, when they essentially give Tom Wilson a free pass (sorry, 5000$ pass...which is what, about .001% of his salary?) To do whatever he wants, knowing the punishment will be laughable.

He fell on the stick and then Wilson punched him in the back of the head for no reason. It’s what started the entire scrum.

Not sure he got him in the back of the head, but yes he's an idiot.

Nope 54
No windshield or chicken wire.
Lost 4 teeth and lots of stitches but that is hockey.

I’m circling the next WAS vs VGK game in my calendar.

Panarin is very well-liked around the league and he’s a Lady Byng candidate. Which is why the retribution against Wilson isn’t going to come just from the Rangers.

I've watched the clip many times and I think the reaction to Buchnevich portion is overblown. Pavel was knocked down onto Wilson's stick. Afterwards he was certainly given a shot to the back of the shoulder area by Wilson but it was hardly anything I'd call malicious or "smashing" that would result in an injury.

Players receive cross checks to the back regularly that are far more malicious than whatever that was. Penalty/misconduct yes, negligence or suspension? I don't see it.

If that’s the going rate for that kind of goonery, Wilson should ask the league how much a season’s pass would cost.
