Flames have to go either:

20-10-0
19-9-2
18-8-4
17-7-6

the rest of the way in order to finish the season with the 66 points that would be expected of a playoff team while still posting a .500 or greater winning percentage.

Can they do it?

I'm excited to find out.

If the Flames do somehow make it, then they are going to be a terrifying opponent in the first round for any team: having just come off of blitzing the Division for 30 games with Darryl Sutter behind the bench.

Any trade deadline acquisitions for the Flames (regardless off buying or selling) won't be available to them until the 25 of April and with only 6 games remaining.

Gonna be an interesting deadline. As sellers it won't be a big deal but if you're buying or shoring up for a push that's a long wait to get some players in from the U.S.

Unless restrictions ease which is possible.

The home split is good news as we now have a coach that will match lines better than we've seen in the past.

Wes Gilbertson @WesGilbertson

#Flames coach D. Sutter on trying Ritchie with Gaudreau/Monahan: “The one thing I’ve seen in practice is when (Ritchie) gets going, there’s some power and speed to his game. That line needs that, and we those two guys to quite honestly be better players for us, and they will be.”

#Flames coach Darryl Sutter on Sam Bennett: “I think we just want him to be a 200-foot, straight-line, work-hard, honest player. That’s sort of how I envision him coming in and that’s basically how we’ve addressed it with Sam. Obviously, I like those kind of players.”

#Flames coach Darryl Sutter: “They’ve worked hard the last few days and they’ve been very receptive to the little changes we’d like to make and things we’d like individuals to do better ... Now, you need the performance part ... The talking part is easy, now it’s the next part.”

It's exactly this and couldn't be more well said. It is the reason to get so excited right now and to cheer for wins with all your heart.

I hope they come to play and I hope they get rewarded with a W. Darryl didn’t leave the farm to coach a bunch of losers.

GFG!

It is highly encouraged that everyone actively engage in whatever form of good luck, superstition, juju etc they find readily available.

GFG !

may the hockey gods curse the Habs in our fair city.

It would be nice if some of the blue collar guys would step up and become very important to the team. It seems other teams find these diamonds in the rough and cgy... Well...
