You can see the adjustments by Ward since Thursday. With the Habs bottling up the middle, they’re lobbing it over the top. Seen it a few times already, including the play that led to the Kulak penalty on Bennett.

Very, very rare I prefer the road jersey but this might be one. I sometimes feel that way about the Pens jerseys. And retro jets jerseys, Selane era. Maybe a couple others.

Why do they keep trotting this useless 4th line out there? It was obvious before the season that Lucic and Nordstrom together would cause any line to suck.

who do we protect on our defence if Tanev is playing so well?

Gio
Anderson
Hanifin

Tanev shouldn't be above any of those guys right?

I'm starting to feel like you could leave Gio exposed with less risk he gets taken.

If Seattle is willing to take the Tanev contract, the Flames should not impede them from doing so.

Flames looking great so far - one thing I noticed is that the D is really engaging in the offensive zone and forwards are covering defensively - Gaudreau had a great defensive play earlier.

I think they could use Rinaldo's energy and speed, that's what a fourth line should provide

Knowing full well that this reference will land precisely nowhere, he sounds like he'd've fit right in with the '70s Montreal band "Offenbach".

(Great voice for that band; not a great voice for hockey PBP.)

I would have Tanev above Gio at this point.
Nothing against Gio, but he's lost a step or two, and Tanev is younger.

That's a lot of penalties to come out of that little bit of action.
