It looked to me like he was way ahead of the play a few mins earlier, but it wasn't called.

Wow. It took TC forever to get their second pp unit on there. Sloppy.

Holloway forces a bad pass that almost turned into a 3-on-1 against.

But of course...

When my granny gave me one years ago, at least it had a dollar bill in it.

Pelletier looking great, strong back checks and a few hits thrown so far. Such a 200ft player

I don’t think Pelletier has had a shift since getting hit earlier. Am I blind?

Edit: oh there he is

It appears that Czech will not fold like cheap Swedish tents.

Looked like zary got swapped out for Suzuki a few times at the end there.

And then finished the period with a shift back on the wing

Zary even ends the first period flat on his stomach. It's like a game within the game.

As for first period thoughts:

- Pelletier is such a team player. Drew a penalty, throws the body, sticks up for his teammates and plays a full 200 foot game. So detail-oriented. Always knows where to be.

- Zary definitely has an awkward skating stride and clear balance issues, but while he's not fast, he's definitely not slow. He's still able to keep up with the play. Him and Pelletier are quite similar in the way they play. I wouldn't say Zary is quite as tenacious as Pelletier, but he's a good 200 foot player and is able to make some plays. He was my number 1 hope this past draft and I'm happy Calgary got him.

Pelletier is as tenacious as they come. Would love to see him on a line with Bennett

I know that offside wasn't really Holloway's fault but it supports my narrative so it definitely is his fault. No good!

I would prefer to see him on a line with Backlund and Tkachuk.

Zary’s line has cycled the puck a lot this game. They’ve had the puck in the offensive zone a lot, and I think Zary has contributed a lot. I would say this has been one of Zary’s best performances of the tournament.
