Stars had the 2nd best record(after Boston) in the league since Christmas.
Maybe we shouldn't be surprised.

The Stars are a tough and deep team, so this being a real series shouldn't surprise anyone.
As much as people want to focus on how badly the Flames screwed up against Dallas, it takes a lot of character as a team to come back with a tying goal with 12 seconds remaining after just having your previous tying goal called back and then go on to win in OT, and come back from a 3-0 deficit in another game, and come back from being down 2-1 in a series to win in 6. The Flames didn't bow out to a bunch of pushovers.

That’s because the Flames are the pushovers.

Can both teams lose this series?
I hate both teams, but like Makar and Heiskanen.

Lol, sounds like Game 7 quadruple overtime only to have the series winning goal be decided off a spotty offside video review angle.

I don't really care who wins but I can't see the Avs overcoming the loss of a starting goaltender and possibly a quality defenseman. This will be lucky to go 5 or 6.
Dallas is a well constructed team that is coached very well and if their top guys ever decide to fully engage they could have a good run.

It's an unpopular opinion because we always assume that the Flames falter and don't try to play hard enough to win, but what I watched in our series was Dallas taking their game to the next level. The Flames were playing a very strong style of game and Dallas was forced to improve their effort and systems across the board. Maybe the Flames don't have that level, or maybe they did reach their highest level of competitiveness, and Dallas was just that much better, I don't know.
What I do know is Dallas feels really good about their game and are playing the way a team needs to in order to win in the playoffs. Colorado had better elevate their game or Dallas might walk away with the series easily, especially if Grubauer is hurt.

The Stars are lucky so far as they won without Bishop. I think Khudobin is the #1 goalie for now.

Looking forward to seeing how game two of this series plays out. Dallas reminds me of how the Ducks used to be. They've got some players that make them easy to hate because they're dirty, but they're also a tough team with some high-level skill.
With the injuries to Colorado, who knows how the rest of this series plays out.
Seeing Benn with that knee into Johnson's leg after what he already did to Tkachuk in the last round, it's hard not to just wish he gets some comeuppance from the Avs. Hopefully Dallas don't match that aspect of the Ducks where they just never seem to have to suffer the consequences for the ways they play dirty.

Jamie Benn injures key player in Flames series (Tkachuk) and Avs series (Johnson). Coincidence? I think not.

Avs looking like they came to play! Dominated the first period, even if they only came out with a 1-0 lead.

The Avalanche out shot the Stars 19-6 in the first period. Goaltending is not an issue for either team.
Sportsnet 650 and 960 are carrying the game using the television feed with Cuthbert and DeBrusk. The pregame show had the Avalanche show and they play the entire Coach's Corner jingle.
