At least these trade proposals are getting more realistic. In some other threads, people are saying Gaudreau for Couturier + prospect

I think Gaudreau for Couturier straight up is a pretty fair trade myself.
Couturier is better all round player and a center, but Gaudreau has 99 point upside and brings star power.
Both are the same age and their contracts expire the same off season as well.
What do you think?

Couturier is already a better player than Gaudreau. His contract is the best non-ELC in the league. He's a 9M player on a 4.3M contract for 2 more years. He plays center. He plays defense. He makes players around him better. He is a Selke finalist for years to come.
His value >>> Gaudreau.

Players that do what Gaudreau does offensively make $10 million + in UFA now, his contract is no slouch either, and like I said, while Couturier is the more well rounded player he doesn't have anywhere near the offensive upside of Johnny.
I think there value is pretty close, going to have to agree to disagree I guess.

If Philly didn’t already have multiple centre options, I’d think there was no way. But both of them expiring at the same time, and Philly having Giroux and Hayes locked up, is the only reason I think there is a shot at prying him away. Not that I believe Hayes is a 2C... but he’s sure paid to be one.

Yes. That's how Farabee made the team. They are pretty weak on the port side. They have three RS LW on the team. Pretty crazy.

Giroux takes faceoffs. They've been going with Derek Grant/Scott Laughton/Nate Thompson as 3C and 4C because Giroux plays LW and can't play center anymore .
Hayes has been a very capable 2C this year. Because of Giroux moving to wing and Patrick having migraines, 2C was their biggest concern, and overpaying was the only way to address that.
Flyers have a nice window with Hart on his ELC, and a lot of great young players and prospects. I could see them making moves to put themselves over the top, but they also need cap space to sign these young players and keep their window open. I can't see how Gaudreau can fit in with
Giroux - 8.3
Voracek - 8.2
JvR - 7
Hayes - 7
If Seattle takes or can be bribed into taking Voracek or JvR, I could see the Flyers going all out in 2021-2022.

Given the age of Giroux and Voracek the Flyers have to be in win-now mode.

Hart, Couturier, Provorov are young guys who are elite at their positions.
Konecny, Sanheim, Myers, Lindblom, Farabee are guys who can take a step
Their prospect pool is one of the best in the league. Morgan Frost, Brink, Zamula, York project as top NHL guys.
Their best window is now with Hart on his ELC, but they are set up well for the future as well. Cap space could be an issue, but they'll be a team trading picks and contending because their prospect pool is already so deep.

Gaudreau's value is a lot closer to Couturier than Konecny, IMO
Philly would have no reason or desire to trade Couturier, but that's a more comparable value.

Is this the trade rumour thread or the series thread?
Philly up 2-1 after 2.

Konecny would be fine 1 for 1 , IMO.
Since the 2018-19 all star break( Jan 30, 2019) to the Pandemic Break ( March 11, 2020), Konecny had .84 PPG (-3) and Johnny had .83 PPG (-11).
With the age, salary length and money difference, looks like a pretty favorable trade for Flames, IMO.

That Lee-Barzal-Eberle line is noticeable whenever they're out there. Makes the Oilers trade even funnier
