Hire one of: Gallant, Laviolette, Boudreau, or Sutter

Hire a new goalie coach. I'm sure Sigalet is a nice guy and the goalies like working with him, but not one goalie has improved his game while Sigalet has been the coach.

Get a new goalie who can start 50-60 games a year. Lehner or Markstrom at the top of the list.

Explore the trade market for pretty much everyone on the roster.

No doubt. Follow up last year’s division win by regressing to a bubble team and then getting embarrassed once again in the playoffs by having our top players no show.

Trev had a chance to make good trades last year when we were 2nd in the league. He blew that chance. Now it will be only bad trades.


Also, it might not be Trev himself. It might the ownership that has been rumored to interfere. That might explain why he got renewed, as the owners realized that it's not all his doings.

He was a #6 overall who earned a spot on the team as an 18 year old and was one of the lone bright spots before Gaudreau played a single game for the Flames

Monahan had 44.5% CF and -3.6% Rel (on a bad team mind you). He played fine as a rookie, but it's no surprise he nearly doubled his production when Gaudreau joined the team.

Their with/without numbers suggest Johnny is carrying around Monahan's corpse.

To me, if you're trading Gaudreau, there's no reason to keep Monahan.

As a Flyers fan, the best thing they did was bring in a real coach in AV. Made a tremendous difference. Would be a good start here in Calgary.

What are the thoughts on Holtby as a free agent? I know he has been regressing the last two years but he should be a solid #1 good for 50+ games.

Simply changing the coach isn't going to fix this. How many coaches have this core had? Gaudreau and Monahan should both be traded. They should have been traded after the Avalanche series, after Johnny's big point season.

On the bright side, there is nothing more to see with this team, specifically the core. We've seen it now, in its prime. The truth is we know what we have and it isn't good enough.

I agree with most that a real coach would be nice, but that change alone wouldn't be enough. The core needs a shake. Whether its Johnny, or Monahan or both, or Gio. Something needs to change.

It'll be really hard for me to watch this same group of guys in November. In other words, if us fans have had enough then not only is it time for a shakeup but better got on it before its too late.

That's why in hindsight, I'm happy Ward overreacted last night and made the goalie switch..it showed to everyone that he shouldn't be the HC going forward. Earlier in this post-season when Flames were looking good, the rumblings about removing the interim tag were worrisome to me, he just doesn't feel like a true HC to me.

I like the dude, and I'd be more than fine with allowing him to return to his previous role with the club. But no way do I want him as the coach going forward.

I said this also in the PGT but let's goon it up a bit and rally the team around Tkachuk and being the bad guys. Get a couple of more agitators and big forwards and make other teams hurt if they want to win.

Gotta be funner to watch than soft dipsy doodles and skating away from scrums.

If they don't win at least we can get some high draft picks. Hahaha

Guy is terrible, he can go to the Oilers

The two best goalies in the playoffs are UFAs you gotta at least try
