Poile also matched that insane offer sheet for Weber.

Hopefully the Flyers get clobbered in 4 straight and then sell the farm for Johnny "no show" Gaudreau.

Sure, and just hope Flyers pro scouts and/ or management haven’t watched Johnny play for a long time.

Yeah, maybe they've been living under a rock, or maybe they think he can have a resurgence with a change of scenery.

If we know anything it's the east teams/media/fans don't spend much time focusing on the west teams... So maybe they haven't?.

Ugly ugly ugly. Ugly 2-1 win, ugly 5-0 loss, ugly 1-0 win. Given how well CBJ NYI and CAR look, they sure are lucky they played well in the RR and nabbed the 1 seed.

Good defensive lineup adjusents for Philly (Ghost/Farabee out, Hagg/Raffl in). They're playing a lot like Calgary. Big players are struggling as they turtle their way to victory.

The initial reactions were kind of hilarious in that posters who were bad mouthing Subban his whole career who also hated the Habs were saying how great he was after the deal.
Holy crap, I totally forgot that Seth Jones was actually a Predator. Boy is that trade ever going to look rough in a couple of years. Actually, it already does.

Yeah, aren’t Jones and Johansen scoring at roughly comparable rates? (Despite playing different positions)

Press are super lucky they won the Erat Forsberg trade

What a bizarre franchise

Kotkaniemi takes a major boarding penalty. Flyers have already scored once to tie the game 1-1 and still have around 3 minutes left on the powerplay.

They allow two goals on the major, and now have scored twice. Montreal has a 3-2 lead

I hate the Habs but I'd love them to take out the Flyers. Make them desperate to make changes haha

Another goal for the habs. Bad goal let in by Hart, and looks like he might get the yanks

They have challenged it offside.

Clear offside. Looks like Habs still lead 3-2 and Hart will remain in net

Canadiens win 5-3, to fight for another game. Series is now 3-2.

Game 5 thoughts :

I'm sick of players crosschecking each other in the face. Happens way too often. It's a non hockey play that causes injury. In any other sport, it would be an ejection. In hockey, it's just another play. During intermission Bieksa even jokes about cross checking people in the teeth Get it out of the game.

Flyers PP had chances the last couple games, so nice to see the cash in x3. Playmakers giroux/voracek on the wings; couturier netfront/behind the net, where he is strong on the boards.

Flyers faceoff prowess getting a lot of national attention is nice. They've been elite for years.

Hart had a bad game, but easy to give him a break given his playoff.

Suzuki has the makings of a good villainous player.

Montreal caught a few more breaks. Not too worried , Philly should still win the series.

I agree with all things you said here, but a more serious issue to me is the hitting from behind. On one shift 3 Habs players jumped into the back of the Flyers defencemen throwing hits. And for Hrudey/Bieksa/Friedman making excuses on the major, "shouldn't have turned", "should accept hit" STFU. Kotkiemi hit him square in the back after the puck was gone. These to me are much more dangerous.

And as a longterm Flyers fan, trade Ghost tomorrow, the guy is useless. Shea Weber is the best defenceman in the NHL and could play on any team of mine at any time.

Damn. I was already expecting a feisty game six, but the way Gallagher was giving the Flyers bench the gears last night, never would have thought his jaw was broken. I was more wondering if they had a dentist in the bubbles...

Most likely a hairline fracture?
