Hamburgers are on a Cinderella run it seems, but some pretty tough competition coming up.

We'll see if the can get their buns in gear to moustard a win here.

I don't have enough meat this time around. Hopefully the rain stops by dinner time.

I love prime rib, but it's never really struck me as a BBQ/grill food so much as an oven roast - is it worth BBQing prime rib?

I like hamburger as much as the next person, but how the heck is it winning against the other superior cuts of meat? Brisket better take it all.

We’ll bring enough sides so the kids and wife can fill up on that thus leaving the burgers for all 50 of us

Rotisserie prime rib on the grill is (under ideal conditions ) EPIC.

I cook 95% of my own meals. I can't remember the last time I made a hamburger, outside of the odd time I need something quick for camping/biking and buy a frozen pack to throw on the grill for a last minute option.

If I'm making burgers, they're smash burgers, so I'm not putting them on the grill.

It's funny to see some posters unable to comprehend that other people can have different opinions.

Differing opinions are fine (I have it Ribeye>Hamburgers>Sirloin), but I was having trouble comprehending the idea of not grilling burgers for 1.5 years. I would wager it is probably the most common grilled item (not best, just most often used).
I am with Cali on that one; we probably grill some form of burger once every 1.5 weeks.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I don't have kids so maybe thats it? I'd rather throw a steak on there.

I usually pan fry burgers so you can do a smash with 100% crust coverage. A charcoal grill works too if you want a smokier flavour but you only get a 50% crust coverage from the grill marks.

A hamburger is an odd thing to make on your own. It’s more of a social activity where you’re making a bunch. Making a single burger seems weird as a single person. Also you don’t always have BBQ access.

That said, I really like to cook and make my own burgers all the time. Some ground elk (if I have it), minced garlic and onion, salt and pepper, egg. You got yourself a burger. I’ll usually make 4 to make it worth the time. Maybe do a double stack and save the other two for another days lunch or breakfast.

I enjoy making sliders too mostly because those Safeway bakery butter buns are deadly. You don’t really need to BBQ them either it it’s not an option.

I make my burgers from scratch all the time. I’ll take 500g of quality ground beef, divide into 4, and mould the burgers. One goes in the pan and the other three get wrapped up and frozen. Nothing goes in the burgers expect beef with the outsides heavily salted before cooking. So good! It’s tough to buy a burger just as good unless I want to spend over $15.
