And it was Dallas to St. Paul. Actual travel. It wasn't like one night in LA and the next in Anaheim. Weird scheduling "glitch". Crummy game but I'm ok with moving on from it.

so excuse or not it is the worst possible scheduling of two games

Everything is fine. Don't overreact, it's only one loss. Every team loses games.

Copy paste.

Enough is enough. The team isn't good enough and they aren't bad enough either. Changes need to be made, and soon. Thing is, they don't have the assets to go "all in" and make a big move. The team needs to be changed if they want something different to happen.

If they get red hot, the team is going to maybe make the playoffs and play 4 games.
If they play the way they are, they'll just miss and draft around 13.

Either way, they'll overpay for some free agent who won't live up to expectations then do it all over again.

Technically they are not in a playoff spot.

Nashville is 5 games above .500 but has played less games than Calgary. Their winning % is better.

Be critical if you like but understand the Flames situation, remaining schedule...they don't need some miraculous record to make the playoffs. If they outplay Vancouver/Edmonton the rest of the year (with a more favorable schedule) they are in a 1-3 seed

This game on the worst possible back 2 back doesn't decide the season, nor did the game last night

I mean...The Flames gave the kind of effort I expect after a quick turnaround like that. Onto the next one after Christmas.

Outplay Edmonton/Vancouver in the 2nd half

top 3 pacific seed, Flames have a favorable 2nd half schedule

If you can't do that you don't deserve playoffs anyway

Big ol' meh. Wasnt expecting much from today's game and expectations were met. Talbot has another strong showing and got nothing from it. That's probably the worst of it for me

The Flames need to simply give a better effort.

So what if they were 2 quick games, all teams have to do that.

No they don't is kinda the point...22 hours is the absolute minimum time required to the CBA and then include the cross multiple state travel.

It was a uniquely bad set of circumstances that not all teams will deal with. That said sure I wish they played better its just hard to throw in the towel on the season based on these circumstances.

Disappointed in the effort. This team will be in a playoff spot due to games played at Christmas but points % has them on the outside.

Huge game on Friday

I was hoping we would have passed the Oilers by the break

Enough whining about the schedule which the team can’t control. Flames could have played a little harder too and to think otherwise is silly.

The Flames are on the bubble after a horrible start, the removal of a coach who I'm pretty sure they all hated and a nice winning streak.

A bad losing streak ends the season at this point but making the playoffs is totally within their sights.

If you can’t play consistently until the trading deadline I’m in the camp of moving some UFA’s. And by consistently I mean solidly in a playoff spot. Don’t be fooled again.

Also I wonder if Treliving is talking to anyone about coaching the team. He must have one or two people in mind that he sees as possible upgrades.

Most b2b are 24 hours, it’s 2 hours less.

Calgary is a team that folds with any kind of adversity.

That’s kinda the point.

Whether it’s a bad goal, a missed penalty or 2 hours less rest, they never seem to over come it.

If you want to be a contender, you need to win when the circumstances aren’t ideal.

Win against the Oilers its a good road trip...if they lose its a bad road trip. Pretty simple

Its a strange situation...playoff bubble but 3 points off the division lead

Just like all teams, even the best ones have stinkers. Like this one was.

It’s not a sign of things to come. It’s not a cause for panic, it’s not something to give more than two seconds of thought into. We all know they’re a better team that what they showed today.

It’s a stinker. It’ll be forgotten by the morning.

This game was bad but people are seriously underestimating the significance of a cross country trip with games 22 hours apart. That is complete horse****, and any contender in the league would have trouble putting up a fight today.

This team isn't perfect, but today was a ridiculous ask, on to the next.

The Flames are -15 in goal differential this year, and their record is propped up by a 3-0 SO record.

This is not 1 bad game.

This is a team that has played below playoff hockey all year.

Now, there is plenty of time to right the ship, but let’s not pretend it’s one bad game.

It’s been a mediocre season to date.
