System is pass 7 times too many, then give up the puck. I'm not smarter than you though.

Yes, i stand corrected. Frolik's contract was better. Ends at age 31 and only really had 2 bad years of it. Backlund goes to age 34, is over a million more per year and if he continues playing like this it will be 4 bad years.

Saw it last year in great detail. Now who should be accountable for what you're seeing if we know that his system works .there's some bad juju lurking under this roster right now.

Watching the first period of Flames games is absolutely pointless. They never score.

This vexes me as well, as do most "systems". But I've thought the Flames looked like a fire drill at a daycare a lot of times this year. If there's a rigorous "system" in place, I don't see it or understand it.

That was a good period. CGY playing well just need to stick with it and keep working for each other. Great team play!

Ha, someone said in the last game thread that you'd have to be a masochist to watch the first two periods of a flames game this year.
I've started the last 2 games after the first, didn't miss anything.

Can we please stop with all of the fancy passing on the PP and just shoot the puck!! So frustrating that we insist on setting up for the pretty goal rather than just digging in for the ugly goal. Shoot the puck and bang away at a rebound. BUT they obviously know what they are doing as they earn the big bucks.

...an interesting take.
Flames generated one scoring chance. It was Lucic to Andersson.
Otherwise, it was a sloppy bad period of hockey all around. The Flames gave up more chances than they had.
Flames continue to settle for shots from the perimeter because they can’t break through the neutral zone cleanly or with any speed at all.

Yup, don’t understand why nobody on this team seems to want to shoot the damn puck. Are there team bonuses for assists or something?

I disagree completely. Gio (interview with Leslie) was bang on IMO - they supported the puck and moved it quick. Some great movement of the puck for breakouts. Two good kills. The puck is moving great into the o zone just need to get more action at the net - shoot pucks, get them through, get to the dirty areas.

Rose-coloured glasses to me. I thought they looked ... almost OK, but they also looked lost half the time on the PP, if not more.
Johnny looks like he's in a peewee game. Running around all over the place with no particular place to go. (Hey...isn't that an old song?)
