I’d say Backs has hands especially when he has the puck. As Backlund is one of the best for protecting the puck and can dangle if need be. Lindy has that quick and accurate shot/release. Which is something Backs doesn’t have. But that’s my opinion. 😉

And this was exactly why the rule was brought in.

Terrible terrible miss by the linesmen to not immediately call that as offside. No accountability allows for stuff like that to happen. It could be fine now but what if they miss something that alters a game and possibly a team's playoff chances? Officiating needs to be better.

That was the correct call to challenge the goal and correct to call it back but it shouldn't have even been a goal to begin with because it should have been blown down much sooner.

Can't see how you blame the liney on that, split second to determine whether it was first touched by a Calgary or Carolina player. That isn't as easy as it looks, and you don't know their point of view and whether the players body interfered with the view. The liney is also dealing with a player coming right at them to get on the bench.

First period I've watched all year and not felt I needed to see more from them. Excellent period of hockey for Calgary.

Listened to the first period on the radio, Peter Loubardias is honestly just the worst. No idea how bad the Carolina guys are but I can't see how anyone is worse than ol' Pete. He acts like such an authority on every tiny thing hockey related. Derek Wills isn't great either but Loubardias comes across as such a condescending prick towards him.
