Hanifin has taken a step. So has Monahan, he looks stronger and more confident. Retrieves the puck well and is flubbing his shots less. Hes really come in strong.

Monahan looked really engaged tonight. Hope that continues. Stone looked ok. Didn't mind that switch tonight.

4 games in and only one regulation time loss / 4 games in and only one regulation time win.

Rittich the obvious number one star tonight. Happy to take the two points on the road!

Solid game. Starting to roll and create chances. I thought they were a little unlucky to have a bunch of penalties to in a row when obvious penalties aren't called like the interference on Bennett.

Bennett must have egged the head of officiating house when he was younger, seems to be singled out or doesn't get calls you would expect.

Great way to start a trip.

Hanifin looked great

The big question - did Bread do enough to earn a second second line appearance?

I think he did well and hope he stays - but won't be surprised if they shuffle again

James Neal would have put that shootout opportunity 6 rows deep into the stands.

Is it just me or did Sam Bennett get no ice time after that toe drag giveaway?

I'm just going to reiterate a point I made in the GT.

David Rittich looks like an all-star so far.

The defensemen all look very good to start the year, including new offense from Hanifin and even better defense from Andersson.

The forwards have been a mixed bag, but Monahan looks very quick and strong to start the year, and Lindholm continues to be a great 200 foot player. Johnny has had his struggles, but you can't argue with his production. The rest will come with time. There are signs of good things happening without any results yet.

Now let's talk penalties. It is easy to say the Flames need to be more disciplined. They absolutely do. But let's be real, there have been an exceptional amount of borderline calls against the Flames in these first 4 games. Things will even out over time.

The PK is solid, and the PP is producing.

All in all, this team looks to be in good shape.

That’s incredible, they are so well done, almost seamless. A high quality gif to be sure.

Nobody else is exactly stepping up to take it away...

I thought Mangiapane has been pretty good in that spot so far. Second line was pretty good tonight. The bottom 6 hasn't done anything offensively at all this year which is a little concerning.

Tell Bennett he left his headphones in the locker room just as the bus is leaving. Please.

Yup. That first call again Bennett was beyond ridiculous in my eyes.

He's stuck at this point. He's extremely effective in the playoffs and basically a liability during the season. He needs to be a physical and aggressive player to be successful, but he can't (due to reffing) and clearly incapable to adjust.

I just want him gone so i can stop contemplating the conundrum, and accept that it's just another major strikeout by the franchise.

I was surprised to see he did actually. And credit where credit is due he was solid and not trying to be fancy

He didn't in the final few minutes or ot though, deservedly so.
