There's a place in Crossfield called The Donut Man.
They have a donut called the Ginger Molasses.
It's the best donut ever.

I stop there every time we drive up and down highway 1. There have been a few times where I've considered making the drive just to get some snacks but I haven't done that yet.

I hope you mean highway 2 because 1 is nowhere near crossfield and those donuts aren’t near good enough for that much of a detour.

Interesting. Stuff like Beyond Meat and Impossible has been generally getting more use over time, not less. Though, I could see Tim’s target audience as not being the most receptive to those products.
As someone who eats way less meat than I used to, I’ve quite enjoyed Beyond and Impossible (Impossible more so, I find. It’s soy protein based whereas Beyond is made with pea protein and has much more of a distinct flavour on its own). Beyond Meat burger from A&W is ok sometimes, and the Impossible Whopper seems relatively indistinguishable from a regular one once it’s all dolled up. We’ll sometimes use it in cooking for something like a stir fry at home, though its applications are still somewhat limited relative to real meat insofar as the number of dishes you can slip it in to.
Anyway yeah…as for Tim’s, I thought I remember reading an article a few years back that featured their President talking about how they were planning to pare down the menu and get back to being a coffee and doughnut shop again. Obviously that sh** went out the window.

I am still floored by the amount of Canadians that dine on Tim Hortons daily. You see strip malls where there's an A&W or McDonalds near a Tims and Tims is always by far busier at all times in the day despite offering far inferior food and beverage. Their breakfast and lunch food is equivalent to 7-Eleven fare but somehow Canadians have been hoodwinked into thinking it's good. I don't understand it.

I've been trying to cut down on the amount of meat I eat, and I really enjoy Yves as a substitute. The texture & taste are great. I really like their 'ground round' and veggie patties. Also, black bean patties are ridiculously easy to make from scratch and are a great protein supplement.

I just noticed the typo in the thread title, and it kinda feels on brand for Tims. Just, whatever, here it is.

Love the veggie patties. I'm not as interested in the Beyond/Impossible products as they are trying to taste like meat. I am all for a good veggie burger that tastes like veggies, it doesn't have to try to trick my brain that it is meat. I still eat meat if I want, veggie products just give me a broader/healthier range of choices.
