Aren't the best neighbourhoods the ones people will spend the most $ to live in?

Better sell my home in Marda Loop (South Calgary) ranked 107 and upgraded to a home in Forest Lawn ranked 17th!

Generally, yes.
A far more accurate representation for "best" neighbourhoods would be to rank by the MLS pricing for each area...
Well, it would.
If Forest Lawn was so great, based on the criteria used by Avenue, the market would dictate higher property values... It's no more complicated than that.

One score shows me they haven't been to Mahogany, "Parks and green space points: 1".
Excluding the lake, since it's for residences only, Mahogany has a ton of green spaces and parks, one of the primary reasons we are building a house there.

I thought Avenue Magazine caters more to the Latte Sippers rather than the McD free-refill coffee crowds....

If Salisbury Street were a neighborhood it would probably be ranked after Bel Air

Everyone understands we're falling for Avenue's bait right? They do this every year.
It gets more hits than their Top 40 Under 40 issue. They jack up their advertising for this.

I think it's hilarious. I mean it's completely meaningless, and I know I'm feeding the stupidity when I click it a few times. But good for them for putting out something of interest.

I dunno. Just because someone wears clownshoes, doesn't mean we should give them kudos.

Sure, but it's just meaningless discussion. No one in Pumphill is selling their ace to move to Dover based on these rankings. And conversely, anyone in Dovwr would move to Pumphill given the chance. Sure one is last in the rankings and one is 19th, but we all know it's hilariously wrong.
I was hoping that we could another argument about lake communities or things like that here, but we're only on day one!

I live in SA too...I love it here but I have no idea how it is ranked to high. It's a nice looking area and has nice paths, but all amenities involve driving across a freeway to a neighboring area, or the Husky with a broken carwash, a pharmacy that's never open, and the daycare...we have at least made some new friends through taking my kid there.

The "Is it 10 minutes from everything?" criterion. Can't be beat.
