Give me a “Young and Fresh” T-shirt like the Kawhi Leonard “Fun Guy” new balance ones but with a flames logo where he new balance logo is and I’ll buy at least 2.

I'm about 75% done the Gio video, glad I'll be able to call it a Norris recap video.

I've heard SNET is cracking down on hockey YouTube channels, so we'll see what happens with the Gio video and if I'll make the others.

That year I was 14 years old and this snub forever left me cynical about the NHL awards. It was all reaffirmed in 2002 with Iggy but I guess you can at least understand the argument against him that year (playoffs).

Glad Gio got it, well deserved, but I'm still gonna go on being cynical.

Well they got first place right. Good job voters.

Dougie Hamilton 11th in all star voting and 14th in the Norris. He was what, 4th in ice time, on his team, for defensemen?

So happy.

Takes just a little bit of sting out of the season. I'm glad the voters didn't mess this up.

As a sidenote, I thought it was a nice little story to have Gio win the Norris and Jay Bouwmeester the Stanley Cup during the same season. Their carreers have been linked together in a somewhat weird way. They played together for several seasons on the Flames, even as a pairing at times, without being able to find any success on a team that looked pretty decent on paper but still managed to be an annual disappointment.

I also remember there were some discussion about whom of the two should be kept and who should be traded before Bouwmeester was ultimately sent to the Blues in 2013, and then there was the fuzz about Bouwmeester snubbing Giordano for the final spot on the World Cup roster in 2016.

Finally both of them got to the very top of the game, albeit in different ways, at age 35. I just find it poetic in some way.

Ahhh was away all day and didn't get to see the live award show, but man am I happy for Gio. A season for the ages for an older D-man. All the great seasons he's had for us, it's great to see him finally get the Norris when he could have had it on a couple other occasions too, if it weren't for a couple unfortunate injuries.

Some people never change. Both of these guys have been known to be dolts. Dater has always hated the Flames and Brooks has always been Brooks (LOL on the Carlson vote).

How did Bouwmeester snub Gio? Surely he had zero say in the selections. Or did you just mean that he was picked over Gio (which wasn't his fault)?
