The Flames will run into injury trouble by the third round and will have to reluctantly call upon Lazar....then Lazar will put on a 20 pt in 12 games performance, helping the Flames clinch their 2nd Stanley Cup....

...and he will secure a 6 x 6 deal with none other than the Oilers!!!!

A forward will go down, and Czarnik will come in and make a big contribution.

if the answer ends up being either Smith or Rittich it probably means the Flames have won 12-16 games so I will go with ...

Smith or Rittich

Combination of Chucky, Neil, Janko, and Gio. Rittich if he plays. Like others have said, it's Neil time!

Agreed, and it may take another forward going down, for us to see the emergence of Dillon Dubé.

Monahan will score .7 goals per game.

Eric Francis will write some stupid column about how Monahan can't pass.

Frolik will have a good opening round. I see 3 goals for him this series. At least one empty netter.

Backlund is criminally underrated for his defensive play league wide.

Let’s look at Goals allowed (Non PP) during the whole season:

Backlund - 39

Vs Selke Candidates:

Bergeron - 47 (in 12 less games than Backlund)
O’Reilly - 55
Crosby - 78
Stone - 66 (understood that he played most of the year on an awful team)
Barkov - 92

I agree that everyone will have to step up their game.
I expect the most improvement from Neal, Frolik, Bennett, and Ryan.
Tkachuk will almost certainly up his pest level.

Backlund absolutely is criminally underrated. He may very well be the best center on this team. His even strength scoring was on a different level this season and he’s always noticeable on the ice when he’s not producing.

His line is the key to winning games in the playoffs. If they can routinely shut down top lines while scoring, the Flames could be lifting that Stanley Cup in June.

Another Hamonic vote here. Heck of a comeback season for him, and he's built for this time of year.
