Anyone who is not sick or injured should play tonight.

Playoffs can be a very, very long grind, having guys rested and healed up is a bonus!

Such mixed feelings on this one. My head says it’s a nothing game, don’t risk any injuries and I shouldn’t care about the result. My heart says don’t lose to the oilers, or if you do, don’t give lucic and Kassian any satisfaction. I know it’s a dress rehearsal , but I think i’d rather sit all our mvps. Oilers beating us soundly (would not crush our spirit in the least) is better than doing some actual damage to our lineup for the playoffs. Either way my blood pressure will be up before this game is over...

If and when Gaudreau gets his 2 points he should be sent to the showers

Boston loss means Calgary clinches 2nd place overall.
I no longer care about the outcome. Just get out of this injury free, but embarrassing the Oilers would be a bonus

Unfortunate that he’s stuck at 98 points, I really wish they could make him a healthy scratch tonight. Frankly I’m more worried about him than Tkachuk.

As neither team has much to play for, I'd like to see:
Gaudreau picks up two points to reach 100.
Brodie scores at least once to become the 12th Flame's player to reach 10+ goals this season.
Ryan picks up at least one point to set a new personal career high of 39.
Fantenberg scores his first goal of the season.
No one gets injured.

I will be very surprised if anything noteworthy happens this game, flames and oilers likely just want to move onto their next seasons (playoffs and golf, respectively) injury-free.

Neither team has anything to play for but for completely opposite reasons.
Oilers gunna Oil.

These might be the last five games he coaches with the Edmonton Oilers if they don’t make the playoffs with the search far and wide for a new general manager who may want his own guy behind the bench.
The Oilers reportedly took on Hitchcock’s advisory/consultant contract from Dallas which was what he was doing for the Stars before Peter Chiarelli hired him to try and save his job back in November. The consultant role is apparently for two more years, so if he doesn’t coach, he’ll be around.
But he’s a coach at heart.
“This is a very unique situation for all of us (assistants Glen Gulutzan, Trent Yawney, Manny Viveiros), we’re going to work our butts off until the end of the year, then it’ll be 100 per cent in somebody else’s court,” said Hitchcock “They’ll make a decision from a general manager’s standpoint on where they want to go and the pecking order is the general manager gets to hire who he wants.
