Andersson is arguably the 2nd best defence man on this team in his first year. Hes going to play.

I love Andersson but there is no way he is better than Hamonic or Hanifin at this point in time.
I do agree that he is a lock in the top 6 however.

I like the idea of running brodie-stone as a third pair. They have good history together and brodie could take advantage of some bad matchups with lesser lines. Kylington/fantenberg in reserve for injuries.

Id would go with:
Gio-Big Ras
Han-Ham
Brodes-Stone

Depth chart
Gio Hamonic
Hanafin Brodie
Brodie Anderson
———————————-the five above the line are guaranteed in the line up in game 1
Valimakii Stone
Kylington Prout
Fantenberg
To me it comes down to matchup and trust. Of the names below the line I would trust Stone the most, assuming he shows well in the last few games. I also assume Prout is the last resort.
I also assume Hanafin Hamonic won’t be split. So that logic leaves me with:
Gio Anderson
Han Ham
Brodie Stone
If it’s a lefty ahead of Stone, Brodie flips to the right, and up to the top pair:
Gio Brodie
Han Ham
Valimakii Anderson
I favor the first line up, because I doubt the Flames dress a rookie pair unless needed.

That is some insane depth on D. All 3 of those pairings could be a top pairing on some team... Brodie-Stone, probably an improvement over Edmonton’s top pairing. Plus you have depth like Fantenberg, Valimaki and Kylington - all NHL caliber defencemen.

Yeah for sure, and you'll be wrong, barring injury of course.
Rasmus has done everything to keep his spot, and then some.

The *top* 6 would be my top 6 at all times going forward also. This is why you have all this depth.
Always earned, never given.
Let the 8 guys have their opportunities down the stretch. The best performers stay there. Brodie can earn his playoff start. If he's a better option than Fantenberg and Stone at this time then he should have no issues showing that.

Playoffs are a war of attrition. Calgary's D depth is the best it's been in years.

Cool. I’m intrigued to see this.
A bit of a silver lining, I suppose. Probably not a lot of guys would get a chance to focus on improving skating during a season.
All the better to shut down his lousy brother

I haven't seen this anywhere but do the Flames need to send anyone down with Stone being recalled? I have the Flames at 24 players which does not include Neal. 13 forwards with Quine, 9 D now with Stone and 2 goalies. Am I missing something? I believe we have used 2 of 4 recalls (Lazar and Quine)

The 23-man roster limit is eliminated after the trade deadline
