My guess is the Jumbotron and certain concert setups would be a bigger problem for the roofs, I think the Flames want to be able to hang thingsfrom the rafters.

In Canada we actually use steel with a higher yield strength than the states for snow load. And I think this is kinda the idea they were going for with the Calgary next field house, so it certainly is possible.

But I wonder if it would be easier to put a good angle on the roof with some heat trace cables.
