I don't ask for much, but I would like to see Rasmus on PP2 for an extended stretch. That unit doesn't have the skill to score fancy goals, they need to just get traffic and shots, which is where Rasmus excels. Not sure how it would hurt to keep Ryan off that unit in place of Rasmus.

#### me, Canucks fans have been blessed with pbp guys I guess, cause I'd never listen to that regularly. I'd use the radio or opposition feed.

Why won't Peters try Andersson in place of Ryan?

There are actually a lot of really good PBP guys who come out of Vancouver. It's mystifying how the Canucks ended up with colour by Tommy Larchseid for so long.

Seniority is the laymans way.
Seignority is the Textcritic/academia/egghead/smarter than us way.
I applaud it myself.

None better than Jim Robson.
Dude was simply the best radio guy i ever heard until Peter Maher came along and Robson was great on CBC the few times he was asked to do HNIC as well.

Danny Galivan (sp?), Robson, Jim Hughson, John Shorthouse, Rick Ball.
Just a wealth of talent.

You're not wrong, but Hughson, Shorthouse and Ball are all really good themselves and have all been the main pbp guy for the Canucks in one form or another.

Who else was going to feel Pavel Bure's groin?

First game of the season that I actually get to attend. I'm looking forward to seeing Dube play. Hope Stockton did him some good.

I agree with many posters here that feel that Frolik should be in the lineup. He may not be producing much, but he is quite good at being a disruptor. Adds quite a bit to the overall team-speed of this team, and is a wonderful forechecker/backchecker - he consistently puts pressure on the puck carriers, and there seems to be less time and space for them out there when he is on the ice.
I also think that PP2 needs an overhaul. I get that Ryan is really good at faceoffs, and that's great, but he doesn't have a sniper's shot, he doesn't have above average playmaking ability, and he seems to have trouble consistently winning battles for the puck along the boards. I would much rather have his place up for grabs by either Jankowski or Andersson - at least rotate all 3 through the PP2 to see how the units respond.
That said, it should come down to Pettersson tonight. Give him too much time and space with the puck, and he will be a backbreaker. Flames should win this as long as they are playing well defensively.

Beer? Check
Turtle? Check
Jerseys? Check
Oilers Blowout loss? Check
Now we just need a huge 2 points tonight to complete this list.

IIRC, Frolik's injury was a high ankle sprain. Those are no joke. Could be that he got a whack or a puck in the ankle last game and is just taking precautions and sitting out.
From my limited experience with ankle injuries and from what I've heard, you have to be pretty careful with your recovery, or the effects can stick around for a long time.

This makes the most sense to me. First unit runs through Johnny, second unit runs through a defensemen quarterbacking the attack. Keeps the PP balanced and more unpredictable and the PK on their toes trying to adjust.

Not much makes me happier than clicking on a GDT and reading about an Oilers blowout loss that has already happened. It’s like we’ve won before the game has even started.
