An NHL team is as good as their weakest link. Our weakest link should not be goaltending when we have a guy with 1.91 GAA and .935 not playing.
Ironic that Peters took out Smith so early, probably figured with or without a goalie in net the Habs would have had the same chance to score.

[QUOTE=FireGilbert;6868594]I am rarely angry after loses but am feeling a little enraged right now. It is ridiculous to lose a gam
Not only double the shots but the Flames played very well.
And what a pathetic way to waste Chuckie's tying and go ahead goal

It's like Smith went, damn, I'm over 0.900. I don't know what to do. I need to get back to my sub 0.900 comfort level. Better let in two softies.

The last goal was absolutely inexcusable. Every chance Smith has been given to redeem himself he's pissed it away. I know a goalie can't get over a slump without playing but Peters has given away way too many points playing him when he shouldn't.

Worst starting goalie in the league by a wide margin. Has already cost the team 5 games, and 2 in the last week. He needs to never play for the Flames again.
Garbage goalie is garbage.

I'd suggest firing Smith into the sun, but that'd probably squeeze through his legs, too.

grubauer, hutton, lehner. pathetic inability to identify and acquire good goaltending. and an even more pathetic insistence on playing the worst goalie in the league when the obviously much better goalie is right ####ing there in front of their faces

0? Blames it on the D or the timing of the line change or the lack of offense because they should be scoring 5 goals a game?
If Kelly Hrudey doesn't have your back anymore, you're in trouble.

As I've said over and over again, you don't win in this league without good goaltending and good coaching.
Every year Treliving has been year, he's messed up on 1 or both of those. Every. Single. Year.
Going into this year with a 36 (soon to be 37) year old Mike Smith as the #1 was a ridiculously dumb decision that virtually everyone could see backfiring except team management and the cheerleaders on 960 apparently.
You can't spell overrated without Tre.

Screw you Hrudey. Tell it like it is, Smith cost the Flames this game. Period, end of story.
He’s not “struggling” or “working to find his game”. He’s done.
I think I might be more disgusted than I was after the Pittsburgh debacle. And I sat through every second of that game, live and in person.

Fantastic game by pretty much everyone not named Smith. So frustrating to lose a game where you completely dominated and fired 45 shots on your opponent.
You can tell that 3rd Habs goal completely took the wind out of the team's sails. Good effort in the last few minutes to try and tie it, but Price played well and made the saves that a competent NHL goalie makes to steal the win for the Habs.

Smith needs to be sent to Kansas City in hopes he wouldn't report.

Well the good news is Rittich steps up and Neal can find himself the rest of the team is playing pretty well. We can't win anything without at least league average goaltending, not going very far with Smith in net.

That's at least eight points Smith has cost the Flames in the standings. Eight points. But hey, Mike Smith actually improved his numbers this game. His .864 S% was an improvement on his league second worst .877 S%. His 3 goals against was actually an improvement on his league 9th worst GAA of 3.51. So this was a pretty good night for Mike. Good times.

This is getting ridiculous. I get that the coaches wanted him to play through what ever he has going on but now they’re giving up to many points. Time to let Smith finish his career as a back up, at least until Rittich proves he shouldn’t start.

Flames doubled up the Habs on shots can't ask for much more.

Would’ve been nice to get a win at home after a tough road trip, let’s go with the goalie who is rocking a .850 save percentage at home. Amazing
