Problem is, aside from the 1st line and Chucky, the other forwards on this team have no finish or next to no finish.

I hate to say it but I don’t ever see Bennett becoming a top-6 player in this league. He just doesn’t have enough finish. He’s a great 3rd liner but that’s it.

Neal's complete lack of offence is really starting to annoy me. I gave him a break over the first few games since he was likely getting used to a new team, new coaches, new systems, etc.. But it's been 18 freakin' games now. We know this guy can score goals, so when the hell is he gonna show up?

yeah, losing easily winnable games against struggling teams in your own division is not a path to making to playoffs or doing well in them. i don't know what it is at this point, those cali teams are old and bad. flames seem to do everything but score or win. winning against those teams is so easy for the rest of the league and the flames make it look impossible

Even with the loss we still hold onto 2nd in the division over the Sharks, 1 point off the lead and 4 points up on the wild card. Can’t win them all especially with suspect officiating. Offense needs to start clicking again. Great effort by Smith, hope that becomes more of the norm. Regroup and have a strong four game home stand.

Janko has to finish that pass from JG, as does Bennett on the PS. Jones looked Ike he was going to fall asleep after that attempt.
Or, before that, Backlund instead of shying away from minimal contact, should get his nose a bit dirty and go into the crease and put in that rebound off Bennett's original breakaway. Instead he just did a flyby and just poked his stick in there. Way way way too soft.

The rest of their game is adequate though. Those two need to shoot pucks day in, day out.
Shoot shoot shoot shoot. Then shoot some more. Until they can put the puck somewhere else than the goalie's chest and the boards when they get their chances.

Backlund constantly misses open nets...start with getting it on net

Defense B
Goaltending D in the first A in the 2nd 3rd. Overall B+
Coaching C just didnt like some of the line combos and too much Ryan.

I’m still holding out hope for Neal but I think the lines need a shake up.
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Neal
Tkachuk - Monahan - Czarnik
Bennett - Backlund - Frolik
Hathaway/Dube - Jankowski - Ryan

Holy Janko, dudes gonna have trouble sleeping tonight.
Bennett should come play in my beer league, we're great at shooting at the goaltender (team logos make great targets).
Good game, Smith.
A rare quiet game from Tkachuk.
Definitely looked like we played last night.
#### you refs.

I wonder if the organization cries too much to the league about reffing. Like way more than the next guy. Because that sh** should not be happening.
I don't say much about reffing one way or the other mostly. Because a team has to play through it regardless, and it's a part of the game for better or worse. And there's 30 other teams that think the reffing is biased against them as well. But if you cannot call an automatic penalty, you're not doing your job.

of course, but they were losers of 2 straight and hadn't conceded fewer than 3 goals since october 20th, and gave the flames 2-3 chances that would have been goals on any given other night, or against other teams. anaheim went right back to being pummelled after playing calgary. my point is these teams aren't as good as the flames always seem to make them look

I know losses are inevitable. It would be nice to just lose without wanting to karate chop kittens in half. I would've felt better to go down 2-1 if one of those serveral infractions late were at least called.
Even if they (amazingly) didn't see the puck shot out by the SJ player, what harm is there in giving the Flames their first PP with a minute left? It's not even a full PP. You know they KNEW there was stuff overlooked over the course of the game. Yet still decided to be dongs about it.
