Lifetime Suspension
|
The "McArt Ross" trend is continuing from last season. The Oilers get down by a few goals to where the opposition is comfortably ahead, and then and then only McDavid pushes to pot a point or two late in the game to pad the stats yet too late to make any difference in the outcome.
It's brilliant, really. Trophy collecting 101 right there.

Close, but not quite there. After the EN goal the Oilers will keep him on the bench. He finishes with 24:28.

Oiler fans keep telling me about the center depth...meanwhile McDavid is the first and second line center and they can't do anything unless he is on the ice.

Yep, it's 25:13
I really like those numbers... McDavid plays 25 minutes and Oilers lose 2:5.
Let's hope he gets 28 minutes against the Flames.

And apparently because Sportsnet seems to be run by a bunch of Oiler cheerleaders they are replaying the Oilers/Devils game at 2 pm. Maybe they won’t now seeing as their little darlings were so soundly beaten.

I saw that Connor got two assists. But then I checked the standings and the Oilers have zero points? How does that work!?!?

LOL. I did not expect a replay of this game right after it ended. The game is only on Sportsnet West. The other regional channels are showing the pregame of the Indians-Astros baseball playoff game.

Remenda will be a part time colour commentator for the Oilers regional and national games. The reason he did today's game against the Devils and the exhibition game is that Louie DeBrusk is the colour commentator for both Flames-Canucks game (tonight and on Wednesday night).

Boy, the lack of team speed of the Oiler squad really stood out. I almost felt sorry for Remenda. Almost....

Oilers will be OK if they can figure out how to play McDavid on every line. You know Quinn and Remenda are up to the task of calling that. . . .

That's a bad call. Should be 1 zip Jets instead Dallas gets a cheap power play?

As someone who has McDavid in their pool, I approve of this strategy. If the Oilers can somehow go 0-82 with McDavid picking up 150 points, that would be great.

Tanev skated into Bishop and pushed him over in his crease. That's a penalty every time.

Nice. Byfuglien with a crosscheck from behind and straight into the boards in an after-whistle scrum. What a big dumb loser.
It's pretty ridiculous that a careless, dangerous hit like that results in only a 2 min penalty.
