I totally disagree that the Flames should be placed where they are in that prediction, I think they're probably in contention for 2nd or 3rd in the Pacific provided the goaltending is passable, but I still think it's a freaking great article. Season previews and power rankings before the games are played are, without exception, complete garbage. They're useless. This one, at least, is not an attempt to predict the future so much as just throw shade at everyone in the most brash and bar-room manner possible. It's not exactly a comedy article so much as an unapologetic opinion column that doesn't try to convince the reader that the author has a crystal ball... because no one does.
Good on her. It's just well-executed trash talk, as evidenced by the sheer volume of salt in this thread. Textcritic in particular should start mining the stuff as he appears to have a near-endless supply.
