Is it fair to spend so much on one and not the same on the others? I think not. I also have to buy Christmas presents for many other family members. Christmas is an expensive time of year.

The second reason is... would giving a run of the mill autographed McDavid photo mean that much to a 10 year old boy as opposed to getting the same thing but without the autograph? I doubt it. Autographs mean much more to adults than they mean to 10 year old boys. However... getting a personalized autographed photo where McDavid has actually written out my grandson's name and offered best wishes.... Wow.. can you just imagine the smile on my Grandson's face when he sees that?
I see your point, thank you.

Probably the only way to get players to sign there. They promise they won’t ask any star players to do any off ice work.... probably written into their contracts.

Who the hell wants a Todd McLellan Autograph? Why does this even have to be said?

Just write them a handwritten letter, that's what it sounds like works, they just don't want to be liable for any of your ##### that might get destroyed in the mail.

I believe it is because they get so many people asking for autographs. A lot of organizations do this, we just know about this situation due to a cp member bringing it to the forum.
Maybe trying to contact Conner may work.

I can see why they might say no and insist your grandson sends a letter himself. They probably get lots of emails that sound like yours and the signed picture ends up on eBay.

Think of the life lesson he’ll learn if your present to him is a note telling him if he wants an autograph from mcdavid he should write it himself!

Seriously though, maybe just buy something. Or show up at a BOA game with your grandson and try and catch him leaving the rink.
