Since I heard that Gaudreau doesn't eat veggies still, I have been fully on the move him train.
It might suck for a little while, but you're going to get a lot of good things in return.
What I would like to see is the team target whomever gets pick #2 or #3 (or which ever will get Brady Tkachuk) and dangle Gaudreau for the pick and other things.

There is ZERO chance BT trades his best player for something that might improve the team in 3 or 4 years. Unless he is sick of being an NHL GM

We have guys ready to make the jump on the blue line and absolutely nothing going for us upfront. No way i'm moving Gaudreau. Over a PPG player without a legitimate top 6 forward on his opposite wing.
Move Brodie for a top 6 winger and maybe even Stone depending on how confident you are Valimaki can make the team out of camp.
With Andersson and Valimaki in over Brodie and Stone you can also potentially afford to sign another top 6F especially if we buyout Brouwer.

a hell of a lot more than a career high 53 point left winger...
there is no point in debating with you though, you make an asinine statement and then deny it even though its still posted and quotable.
People are talking Brodie for Krieder and a 1st
Hamilton>Brodie

Krieder is big, fast, mean and one hell of a player. I can't say the same about Hamilton. Brodie would never get Krieder. Keep drinking your homer juice.

I don't think that would be a longer term thing.
You'd get more than just the pick, likely another top six forward in the trade.
It would be a hit, but not a huge one.
Getting the other Tkachuk would be a great thing for the organization. Matt is by far the most important player in the organization. He is a winner and does all the right things. Brady is the same player. Having two of them, would be huge for the team.
I don't care if it's Gaudreau or anything else really, the Flames really should try to get Brady.

Kulak is too soft and too weak
I’d rather see someone big (someone like oleksiak)
We don’t have any physical dman... or forward....
Our team became too soft, no? (No open ice hits...)

Brodie seems like a defenseman NY Rangers always seem to deal for or sign.
Trade Stone for whatever.
Promote andersson
Valimaki seems like type of euro D that is mature beyond his years.
Bennett for lindholm - 2 high picks being traded for new starts.
Buyout brouwer.
Let stajan walk.
Go hard after jvr.
All new coaches.

It's funny that people are talking about trading players I believe are the least of the Flames worries and are part of the solution. Such a contrast in opinions.

Friedman: Treliving looking to add a 1st for 2018 draft. Coyotes won't sign Hickey.

I firmly believe Bennett is better than Ferland and would produce more than Ferly does if given the same opportunity.
Ferly seems like a guy Tree could sell high on, but Ferly for a late 1st is likely a lateral move at best.
Late 1st round picks are ungodly overrated, and to those that think Bennett for a late 1st is a good deal for the Flames...why? How?

I mean, Bennett is nice and all, but wouldn't it be great if we could add another Poirier/Klimchuk/Nemisz/Chucko/Irving/Erixon/Pelech to the system? Instant contender material right there.

I don't see it. Unless there really is some core piece (or near core piece) that is just poor in the room and being a distraction, I don't think the Flames should be looking to add a 1st this year.
Say what you will about Ferland, but I bet he is playing through an injury right now that is bugging him. Even so, this organization has spent a number of assets trying to draft a player like him - 3rd for Kanzig, 2nd for Smith, plus guys like Fischer, Carrol, plus always trying to dig guys up like Stewart, Hathaway and Lomberg, and then signing guys like Glass. Does anyone really believe the Flames are going to give Ferland up for a late 1st in light of all the assets they have expended along the way in trying to find a guy like Ferland?
This team knows it needs some toughness in the lineup, and having toughness that can skate, make hockey plays, and actually look decent playing alongside your top players is valuable. The only way Ferland is being traded is if he thinks he is worth more than what the Flames are willing to re-sign him for. I think expectations with him are a bit much - if he scored as often as people think he should, he would not just be one of the better producing RW'ers in the NHL, he would be a candidate for the Rocket Richard trophy. Ferland provides something that nobody else on the team does - physical play, deterrent, enforcing when needed, and solid play.
None of the guys that I think would fetch a 1st at the time of the year when draft picks are the most valuable would be worth moving, IMO.
This team needs a 1st or a 2nd line RW to work with either the Monahan or Jankowski lines (with Ferland being on the other). It needs a new system that makes more use of the thoroughbreds assembled on the blue line.
The only thing that makes sense is if there really is a locker room issue or a guy legitimately wants out. I think if there is any rumor to this issue, it is just a shot across the bow to the players right now for letting this team down.

Bennett has shown not much. I wish he would but Ferly is better even though he's playing hurt.Stajan scored the winner last time the Flames won a series and gets glorified for it but Ferly physically won that series for us. Any team would take Ferly im not sure about Bennett.

Jesus, Gaudreau is our best point producer by a long shot, he drives the Flames offence and he's a top 10 league wide offensive talent and you want "good things" for him? get a f.*n grip man
Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Hamilton are my only untouchables on this team. everyone else can go for the right price... yes I said that!

I’m still trying to explain the recent collapse. Is it a coach killing move? Loss of confidence? An accumulation of injuries we don’t know about? A cancer in the locker room? Until we have more information, it’s hard to know what the solution should be.
