Man I hope we get a solid coach with a great track record. We would finally know what we have in our team (good or bad).

If Tkachuck's season is over then so is ours. God I hope not.

I'm still of the opinion that 10-4 gets you in. They are 1-1. Only allowed to have 3 more losses.

Problem is we can chalk up 2 more Ls already from the Oilers... GG cant beat them

I know it's unlikely they make it, but there's no point in being a downer, only about a month left in the season.

Don't think he's being a downer, the Flames have been owned by the Oilers going back to the start of last season. Not much confidence in the next game.

The players are letting the organization (and fans) down with their home preparation or lack there of.
They couldn't make simple three foot passes to start. They miss the net a lot and the list goes on and on yet they do nothing to change this.
It's ####ing shameful.

This exactly.
Discussed it all evening with the guy beside me - you? - ...
They move slowly through the neutral zone and wait for everybody to catch up. Then they pass the puck to the outside, and either shoot from there or go around the net and then around the boards to the D.
By then, the other team has 5 guys in the box. So the Flames pass it around the outside until they get bored, then someone shoots it into a shinpad.
Rinse and repeat.
At one point he says to me: we sure do run into a lot of hot goalies.
Me: 17 consecutive hot goalies isn't bad luck... at some point you have to put the blame on the Flames.
And no, it isn't bad shooting. It's shooting from bad areas and not until after the D is set up.

Why do they feel the need to try and pass the puck all the way into the net?

Listening to Gelinas on the post-game show, the coaching staff really have no clue what's happening on the ice.

I have never, in my countless years of following this team, yelled "Shoot!" at a hockey game - and yet tonight, I must have bellowed that out 10+ times. 50+ shots, and I would say five or six of the best scoring chances were passed into sticks/feet. My goodness this team is infuriating!

The way the flames shoot, he would've looked like an all star at practice.

They did. 52 times it hit the net.
Shots were not an issue tonight.

Did you not see how many times they passed away a glorious opportunity to
shoot?
They had 52 shots but should have had over 60. And they passed away most of the best ones.

It's not about quantity, it's about quality.
Even with a lot of their close in or in high-danger scoring areas, many of the shots were pretty low quality.

I have some bad news for you. Even if the Flames miss GG will not be fired. He will get at least one more year, I would bet almost anything on it. The funny thing is we all gripe about him and yet everyone in hockey media thinks he is a fantastic young coach and is not the problem.

I don't think he'll be a Flames coach after this season. If the Flames are fine with treading water and barely scraping into the playoffs, having a abysmal home record.
If they do keep him for another season. I'm going to avoid signing up for the hot house. No way in hell am I paying for a full season of this hockey.

That's not exactly true (Warrener and some of the morning call out the coaching all of the time as it's not only we fans that can see the issues) and outside of Friedman who likes Gulutzan I don't think a lot of the media thinks he's a top shelf head coach. This is a guy that wasn't on anyone's radar to be a head coach when the Flames hired him.
