Gee what a surprise!! A rested Oilers team gets the Wild who played in Vancouver last night and didn’t get into Edmonton until 3 AM this morning!! Shocker!!!

Really? Based on the replay looking at the goal from the left side at an angle (say 30-45 degrees counterclockwise), Hainsey definitely pushed Dumoulin into a path that resulted in him clocking Andersen in the head. If you start watching at 2:59:44 on Rogers GameCentre, you'll see what I mean.

That was a terrible, horrible, awful, putrid call. Hainsey was responsible for Dumoulin contacting the goaltender, but the Penguins lose the goal and get a penalty.

I hate that call.

They need to change the goalie interference rule and the offside rule because both rules have produced umpteen ludicrous results since their inception. Barf.

Scott Oake with the hot take:

"If the rest of the Oilers came anywhere near Connor McDavid's level they'd be in the playoff race."

Panthers win in a shootout over the Rangers to keep pace with both New Jersey and Columbus. That's now 8 straight home wins for the Panthers which is a franchise record.

Currently 1 point out of a spot, but New Jersey is winning over Nashville in the 3rd and things will likely change before the end of the night.

Watch the overhead and every other angle. His trajectory doesn't change. Was the right call IMO. Agree with the last paragraph though.

That goalie interference call in the Pens-Leafs game was horrible.

Pretty good night for the Flames. The playoff race got quite a bit tighter now. A win tomorrow and I think they get back into a wild card spot temporarily.

I don't usually watch Oiler games.. but it was on the set.. and man.. everything is Connor McDavid this and that, like he ####s rainbows! And this probably isn't as bias as the Oiler feed.

That pulsating ring they put on the face-off circle is really really annoying.

They probably would have if the refs didn't hand them a PP on a silver platter just now. That was a weak call.

And just as I type this, the Oilers score on the empty net and celebrate their Cup win.
