A great game but Johnny missed on I don’t know how many shots including the slapshot which is hardly ever anywhere near the net. He seems to be cracking under pressure. Monahan was just too slow to get anything done. Gillies gave up that awful goal to Malkin and almost allowed a really long bouncer to elude him. On the plus side, Brodie had a great game as did Gio. Backs was our best centre by far tonight.

Monahan lost so many PP face-offs. Johnny's passing was terrible pretty much all game. Those two are killing the team at the most important time of the season. WTF is wrong with them? They both have looked brutal for like 5 games.

WAKE UP.

Strong effort but this team is going nowhere under this coaching staff.

Sort of need the Monarchs or Ducklings to lay a couple stinkers at this point. It's not fully in our hands, unfortunately. Unless of course we win all those head to heads with those teams.

Who told you that?

Don’t you realize that your two statements completely contradict each other?

Why did they battle back so hard after going down 2-0?

Their top players did not finish when they had great opportunities tonight and a young goalie was a lil shakey.

Kessel is just a winner, 30 teams would love to have a Kessel at 6.8 million a year for the next 4 years.

Don't think those teams are going to help at all. Think the Ducks have the easiest road to the finish line out of the pacific teams. and L.A seems to be locking their spot down too. Wild card? Slipping away as we speak.

I don't know, this season it seems like 4 points back at this time of year is like trying to climb K2.

Are these two supposed to be related? I would not doubt the 2nd part.

11-4-1 to get to 96 points

Not great but they still can do it.

Except for when he had an awful failed clearing attempt early in the 3rd which almost aided the Pens into taking the lead.

Final random thought tonight - maybe this is one of those games where they play well, lose, but it kicks off a winning streak. Lose the ones you should have won etc.

Well, a point is better than none, and I thought that was a good game. Hopefully this builds their confidence up and they get on a roll here.

Gillies was shaky to start, but I thought he did really well tonight.

Brouwer and Brodie both did well. The whole team played with a lot of hustle tonight and I thought did a reasonable job containing the Pens again. Flames looked fast again for long stretches.

If they play like this against a non-Stanley cup winning team, they will usually win.

Yup, pointless pointless trade. Not just a first but 2 seconds, and the team got worse. But I guess it’s just me.

Seemed like Frolik was on the ice for a lot more ice time than I'd like in overtime.
Maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention.

I hope we don’t see Gillies again. His goaltending is as shakey as I can remember. Every center ice shot has a chance to go in with him in net. Just doesn’t give the team any confidence and they’re already lacking that as of late.

Kessel is one of the more underrated players in the league. When people speak of top players most don’t mention him. He is in the upper echelon of players. He can score and set up plays.

If Mike Smith is back after Buffalo and he plays the 14 of the last 15 , otherwise not a chance in hell.

It’s like GG always says. You can feel a winning streak coming before it happens.

This team will win a bunch in a row soon.

It’s the 10-20 min /game performances from November that are killing us.
