They were talking about it on the fan today and said between the two goalies they have an .885 save percentage since Smith went down.

Maybe we should question why a Rangers player was the first player to the net.

They are the numbers in his 3 starts. I actually think the negativity should all be directed to Rittich, as he’s dropped the ball in a not so insignificant way - meanwhile, Gillies has been very solid despite some weak starts.

You can’t argue with 1.67 and .946, you should be winning when your goalie - especially your 3rd goalie posts those numbers.

Gillies has 3 starts all year, all since Smith went down.

Win - 35 saves on 37 shots
Win - 28 saves on 29 shots
Loss - 24 saves on 26 shots

Rittich has fallen off a cliff, but Gillies (in starts) is playing outstanding.

Lumping Gillies in with Rittich makes no sense. If the Fan was running with that number, what a stupid assessment of “stats” on their behalf.

Okay that’s right! Frolik scores, game ends. During the post game celebrations Hamonic & Smith decide to do a square dance move that they learned as kids. During that celebration Smith gets hurt. 🤨

This game has the energy level of a game 81 played by 14th and 15th team in the conference.

Disappointing effort thus far. They need to regroup and show some life in the 2nd.

The energy is there .. its the finesse and plain finish that's missing.

That was Smith in that game, the Saddledome loss to Vegas.

They were just saying between the two of them they aren't getting the job done. I think Gillies has done pretty well and has the size and athleticism that he could be a very good goalie. Just needs some time......

Goals aren’t scored on high quality shots, they’re scored on rebounds caused by impossibly poor quality shots where our team has no chance to get to the net to put the rebound in. Silly djs, not acknowledging how to be successful.

Silly, silly dsj.
