Shore had 18 points in 19 playoff games when Manchester won the Calder Cup 3 years ago.

We picked up two RH shots that improve our NHL depth and bottom six today and all we gave up was a 7th. I LOVE that all we gave up on this nutball day of renting players was a 7th round pick.

Right handed shot centerman - that's something the Flames don't have. What did the Flames give up?

Flames acquire 2 guys to play in our bottom 6 and raise the floor of our team, in the midst of an injury bug, both for basically nothing.

While we watch other teams sell the farm for rentals.

If your takeaway from today is anything but neutral to positive, I simply don't and can't understand.

Shore and Stewart and all we gave up was a 7th. It wasn't the exciting day I'd hoped for but it wasn't a bad day by any means.

Two big truculent bottom six forwards. Can only assume the Flames are addressing a size issue (Stajan? Lomberg?)

We actually don't have much center depth on the farm. Lots of wingers but very few centers.

Solid NHLer who can score a little. 7th round pick is one step above a waiver claim.

Honestly, this is a bit of an upgrade on our bottom 6 options. I like this move.

On the bright side, easy cost to swallow and more shore puns?

What does that mean for Stajan? Clear upgrade IMO.

Spending a 7th round pick and a player claimed on waivers?
Did we get Freddie Modin and Brett Carson again?

Good job Flames. I’m really happy with a 7th for Nick Shore. That’s a great depth acquisition.

Took 2 tries but Treliving got the better Shore brother.

Very good day for Treliving.

Glad he didn't go "Milbury" and feel the need to make a splash.

Given some of the assets changing hands for average players the Hamonic trade looks pretty good to me.

No goalie added means either faith in duo, or Smith not that hurt.

Added some depth to the bottom line and added two right handed shooters.

This day went well from my standpoint.

YES! Excellent move Brad. A 7th round pick is essentially worthless, it's slightly better than future considerations trades. Now we can finally start pushing older veterans like Stajan and Brouwer to either play harder night in and night out or even to the press box.

Without a doubt our bottom 6 is our weakest link. So good work Brad for making smart, low risk moves. Even if both Stewart and Shore don't pan out, at least it only cost us a 7th.
