Is it my imagination, or do the Flames have about a million more giveaways in their own zone, then they should?

Tough loss, Flames looked like the better team to me. Gave up some top quality chances though, and goaltending wasn't so stellar on others. Unfortunate, but really how it goes sometimes.

You apologize for them every single game... when is it on them?

Kings and Ducks(in OT) losing tonight was big for the Flames.

The pack of the Cali teams and Flames will be battling for two spots until the end of the season.

You don't pull him after the 5-4 softy either. It's still a game that they could come back in. And you don't call the timeout there either. You're down 1, you need to bank it for the late surge.

This is not on GG tonight.
Agree on not pulling Smith at 4-4 but you 100% use your timeout there. 12 seconds into the period and they were just shell shocked again.

At 5-4 it can go either way but the second Smith makes that long look at the bench I think you have to pull him - could tell he was fragile mentally at that point. You need to trust your backup to be able to come in and hold down the Fort too.

The only ones who should be right angry are the hometown fans.
To be a legit playoff team you need a record above .500 at home.

As for coaching tonight. GG should have pullied his goalie earlier, called a TO when his team started to collapse and not start each period with a line that features two of the worst ES players on the roster.

Remember the good ol days when a lead after 2 was a guaranteed win? That was nice.

The coach debate is fair, and this game definitely wasn’t 100% on the coaches... but this team just really isn’t fun to watch this season. Even when they’re winning.

A change would be nice.

you’re also being disingenuous by not using the shot count at the time of the fourth goal

Just so fragile. And just so much a reflection of their coaching staff.
They out shot them 19-9 in the third. They didn't give up at all and created plenty.

Bad goals in the third(and the 4-3 goal in the 2nd) was the story. There really isn't much else to tonight. Goals completely change and define games. It wasn't lack of effort in the third. Far from it.

Frolik last game
Smith this game

Those two were easy

Team is not in the position because they lost to the two best teams in the league this week though.

Thats the main thing. Call a friggen timeout so the Vegas game repeat doesn't hsppen. Just a bunch of morons for coaches.

The Flames came out to start the third period looking scared and not ready for any push. The damage was done early. The Flames piled up the shots late. And the majority of those shots were poor quality shots. When the Flames actually had really good opportunities to score in close, they blew the shot or missed the net. Number of shots means nothing.
