Yes - because the team is a modest 3 game winning streak away from being back in a wildcard spot. And only some members of CP really believe this team should be any higher than that at this point.

I'd frankly be shocked if this team won three of its next eight games.

If this was any other Canadian market, the team out of a playoff spot (could be 5 points shortly) in a year where they traded away their 1st & 2nd round picks, the media would be writing and talking about it already.

Yeah, our media is absurdly on board with the Flames organization. They don't make the ridiculous fanboy-quality articles that you see up north but they also barely challenge when things clearly need to be challenged and they NEVER bite. Something that almost every Canadian market does in spades.

Perhaps they don’t agree that things “clearly” need to be challenged. Perhaps they’ve seen this scenario time and time again in professional hockey and want to let things take their course. Emotions are for fans.

Scorp slowly moving back to the fire GG side. I want a separate thread when it happens.

Take their course ? I guess the Flames course is usually the golf course come playoffs so you are right that the Flames media is use to it

Disappointed that Johnny Gaudreau has fallen in the scoring. Johnny was in 3rd from te longest time and thought he had a real shot at Art Ross trophy but he isn't getting the points no more and Kucherov is running away with Art Ross . Monohan was top 3 in goals. He had more then Ovechkin at one point and more then Kucherov but he's not scoring either. I think the games with 0 goals for Monohan

Looking at those teams and I can’t find someone I would trade JG for!
Vegas does they have Marc Andre Fleury. 7-1-1 1.95 GAA .940 Sv%

Columbus has Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky. Both are VERY Elite. Not too mention they have numerous great young defensemen.

Nashville has Pekka Rinne and the best defense corps in the league.

Treliving goes out to get Hamonic while the Ducks goes out to get Henrique. It's like a WTF moment! I'd do what the Ducks have done any day over the Hamonic one. I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames ended looking more or less like the Coyotes - frickin boring and going nowhere.

Yup same thing at the draft last year. Draft more defense with our 1st round pick, we don't get many 1st rounders to draft anymore, when there was an ELITE offensive talent available, Klim Kostin (who St Louis wisely scooped up)

Just like when we traded or #1 pick for that lugnut from Phoenix a few years ago when we could have ended up with Vladimir Tarasenko (who St Louis wisely scooped up)

Winning is fun. If they won every game 2-1 on the way to a championship, I would highly entertained.

They are boring because they lose more than they win. Simple as that.

Why they are losing so much is up for debate.

If the team won all its games 2-1 because of stifling ,trapping tight checking boring hockey I'd cheer for another team like Winnipeg, heaven help me..... Tampa!! Barf... I hate watching tight checking boring shut down style hockey

I'd rather watch soccer and that's as boring as it gets

They need more of bigger skilled forwards and physical defencemen.
Flames didn't make the playoffs for 5 straight seasons. We then have that one miracle season that surprised everyone. We then have our worst season in 15 years and miss the playoffs. Then we make the playoffs last year. Now apparently we should blow it up. Year 4 of the rebuild is time to blow it up.

You are so full of it, it's not even funny.

If Flames were runaway division leaders, but they weren't winning "your" way, you would stop watching out of protest. Riiight.

I sure hope they are losing to your liking these days, lest they lose another fan to soccer.
