Don't know if already posted in here but Gaudreau stated that he thought Dube was gonna stick around for a little with the big club. Have a good feeling about Dube, very well rounded game.

Tuulola has made the team after final cuts by Finland
Also interesting is that if that is accurate Finland is taking 12 forwards and 8 d-men, instead of the more common 13 forwards 7 d-men.
There are also going to be a few people upset that Turkulainen got cut. He is a high point producer for u20s in the men's Liiga.
edit: some confusion about Finland's roster. Many people are reporting it as the final roster but there are still 21 skaters at camp so there is one more cut to be made.

Despite some people claiming that was Finland's final roster (which confused me), they still actually have 21 skaters at their camp. They still need to make one more cut.
Slovakia has an exhibition game against Russia today. Might get word on their final roster after that game but barring injury Ruzicka should be on the team.
Once Finland makes their final cut we will know the true fate of Tuulola, but that might not happen until the 25th.
Pretty exciting year for Flames prospects at the WJC.
Dube - likely 1st line LW for Canada
Fox - likely 1st pairing defenceman for USA
Valimaki - maybe 1st pairing d-man for Finland
Ruzicka - likely 1st line C for Slovakia
Then add in Lindstrom and potentially Tuulola as wildcards to make impacts for their countries.
Should be fun

Last #WJC2018 pre-tourney gm in Rochester Russia vs Slovakia has NA playing tenders Berdin (SC) against Hrenák (SCSU). 1-0 after 1st period on another import & Flames ‘17 4th rder Ruzicka (Sarnia) with nice move down wall, cut to net off GL, patience to beat goalie.

So two captains and an assistant? (Dube, Valimaki and Fox)
One has to look no further than our prospect pool in Stockton and WJC to feel better about the organization overall. This WJC captain/assistant news is a great Christmas story after such a disappointing and unspirited effort at the Dome last night.
Future remains bright despite the current extreme frustration with the current Flames roster. I prefer the philosophy of having tweeners in the D7 and 2 extra forward positions rather than stunt growth amongst our prospects.
Got to think that this prospect depth has alot to do with BTs swinging for the fences this year to accelerate our contender window.
Would be interesting to see the 5 year NHL point production for WJC captains and assistants on one of the big 6 teams (Canada, US, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic).
Cannot wait to see this team in a couple more years. Lots of leadership and skill coming up the ranks even without a few picks for next two drafts.
I still think BT can turn around two or three of the current top 5D to recoup those lost high picks a year or two later. So much top 5D potential in the ranks from Valimaki, Fox, Andersson and Kylington.
Kind of highlight reel until you isolate the defensive "effort" on that goal. That was beyond putrid, no way in hell he should have been able to walk like that. He was probably laughing when he realized he was somehow alone in front of the net.
