They still have 30 days in which they can send a player who clears waivers down, right? They may be looking at some roster moves and did the waiver thing to keep their options open....

Looks like Tanner Glass has cleared waivers. He’s on the ice for morning skate today. #Flames

Now that he's cleared, can a team who trades for him send him down without having to put him back on waivers?

I can see a trade for futures or a 6th round pick type deal.

Yeah, that is what Toronto did with Pickard once he cleared.

Can someone also please refresh me on the time frame regarding him needing to clear waivers again now? Is it 30 days?
Thanks

So what exactly was the asset management he did here?

Jankowski had 8 points in 6 games, Hathaway has 13 in 11. Very similar PPG numbers.

30 days on an NHL roster or 10 NHL games played, whichever comes first.

The asset management was to add a player with a little grit for a specific role and limited utilization. Now that things have kinda calmed down, BT waived glass with the ability to store said grit in the AHL. What did it cost the flames? Nothing except keeping Mark Jankowski down for what, 7 games? I'm pretty sure that stocking the cupboards with depth players with previous NHL experice counts as asset management.

Sutter always said the best way to bring a guy up to the NHL was to have him come up, get a taste before being sent back down. And then when they get called back up, they make the best of their opportunity and never look back. Also asset management if that's the tact that the flames took with Jankowski.

Thanks, but what I meant was, what was his PPG after Janko left? But looking at his game stats he was still a PPG in the last 5 games.

I guess if he maintained a good pace after Janko left the question is still whether he is dependent on Mangiapane or if he can do it himself. Why is he basically doubling his PPG this year?

It might just be for flexibility. Jagr comes back, Hamilton goes down. Harmonic comes back but Gio goes out for personal time, Andersson stays up, Glass goes down.

Well if we ever need someone to fill the press box he is our guy. Freddie and him both are not fulltime NHLers

Odd that it was him and not Freddie after the "He needs to play" remarks re: Hamilton from Treliving.

Glass is the easiest move (clearly). Waiting on whatever the next shoe to drop is. Maybe they just decided they'd keep Hamilton up after all... Whatever, line-up looks awesome in the forward ranks tonight.

Dougie threatened with a trade request if Freddie got sent down!
